Clara Mae Baxter, 94, of Elwyn, Pennsylvania passed away on Sunday, January 28, 2024, at Mercy LIFE Valley View. Born in Malvern, she was the daughter of the late William James Clardy and Lillian (Kearney) Clardy.
She was a graduate of the Pennsylvania School for the Deaf and was later employed and retired in the Laundry Department at the Coatesville Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
She loved to go roller skating, doing word search puzzles, cross stitching, playing cards and sewing on her sewing machine. She was a member of the deaf club in Reading and Allentown Pennsylvania.
She is survived by two Daughters: Linda Baxter Russell of Hertford, North Carolina, and Michelle Bruno Baxter Reese of Phoenixville, Pennsylvania. Additionally, she is survived by seven grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, 9 great-great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Cochranville Methodist Church Cemetery, 147 Cochran St., Cochranville, Pennsylvania 19330.

Your mother has left footprints on my heart. Other than my mother, no stronger woman do I know, and she made me feel proud to be a mother. I will always carry our conversations with me. She has given me life knowledge and I know she had a place in her heart for me. She was a true lady and she enjoyed her perfume, designer bags and jewelry. She will be missed here at Valley View as well as missed by her supportive daughters and family. I send you strength and love during your time of bereavement. God Bless and keep you.

Thank you Arden! She loved you very much. You were always good to her. I can't thank you enough for everything you did for her. It was a very hard transition for us but I think it was harder on me. That was home to her. I know she could be one tough cookie. She was a unique and strong lady and I am proud to be her daughter. I miss her so much. I keep waiting for her call.
