Mary Lynne Heller, 69, of Kinzers, Pa., passed away unexpectedly at her home on Wednesday, January 10, 2024. She was the widow of the late Terry Heller. Born in Coatesville, she was the daughter of the late Charles H. and Barbara Ann Simpson Soulliard.
An area resident most of her life, she was a graduate of Octorara Area High School class of 1972.
She continued her education at the Coatesville Hospital School of Nursing, and received her Bachelor of Science and Master’s Degrees in Nursing from Millersville University. Throughout her 49 years in nursing, she developed strong administrative and nursing skills in medical, surgical, trauma, and oncology hospital-based units. She was a natural leader with a positive attitude that motivated others to be the best version of themselves. These strong qualities led her to the position of Branch Administrator of Extended Family Care of Lancaster from 2001 until her recent passing.
Mary Lynne had a heart of gold and loved life, people, and all animals, leaving behind this legacy. In addition to many friends and family, she is survived by siblings: Katherine Herman and husband Robert of Kinzers, Charles Soulliard and wife Sue of Narvon, Allen Soulliard and wife Joann of Delaware, and Daniel Soulliard, of Mifflintown; nieces and nephews, Kara, Ashley, Julia, Jason, Charles, Eric, AJ, Andrew, DJ, Jeffrey, Beverly, and Erica; one step grandson, Anthony, two step great grandchildren; and her friend and companion, William Bradley. Mary Lynne loved and cherished her coworkers at Extended Family Care.
She loved the beach, especially OBX, and visiting family and special cousin, Luz Elena Awerhoff in Leon, Mexico. She enjoyed attending car shows with her long time cruising friends, as she was an avid car enthusiast, and collector of antiques. Mary Lynne had a HUGE heart for ALL animals, big and small. She leaves behind her fur babies, four dogs, a horse, a goat, and many cats. If you can provide a loving home for one of Mary Lynne’s babies, please contact her sister, Kathy at [email protected].
In lieu of flowers, please donate to a no kill animal shelter. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 29, at 11:00 AM at the Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St. Parkesburg, PA with visitation from 9:30-11:00 AM. Interment will follow at a later date.

My boss
I remember when Mary Lynn applied for the job at Extended Family care. They could not get over the car she was driving. She was a great boss and we all loved her so much. I have one of her cats which she calls her grandbaby. Mia Bells. She grew Extended Family Care into a great Home care agency. She was such a great leader and a very good boss and friend. I will miss her so much.

Forever Remembered Momma Bear
My sounding board, my confidant, sometimes even like a therapist who always had her door and heart open for me to talk to about literally anything. Mary Lynne was also our office "Momma Bear." She once said to me "a momma bear always protects her den." Since then, I often times called her "Momma Bear." She was my mentor at work, and I've openly said many times to her and to others that she was the best boss I ever had. Even when I ventured to other career opportunities, Mary Lynne always stayed in touch, and with her charm and beautiful soul, and hook-line-and-sinker, she always got me to come back. I always returned to the company we worked for solely because of her. She was the kind of leader everyone aspires to have. Her compassion for people, especially our vulnerable patient population, and most especially her immense love for animals, made her a unique human being to look up to and want to emulate. Mary Lynne spent literally thousands upon thousands of her own money to get vet treatments for every animal that needed it, whether they were her pets or not. Over the years, she took in so many strays and animals surrendered to her. She would find them homes, and many actually ended up finding a forever home at her house. We office staff often times were her "assistant nurses" bottle feeding kittens, doing wound care, and giving antibiotics to them and to the many dogs that she often times brought to work. Every cat and dog she had was an occasional office guest; there was not one staff member that did not know her fur babies. I had the pleasure of dog sitting Frankie, Tank, Charlie, and Toby. Those were her current boys. Over the years she lost a few others, and each time it was always a heartbreaking moment for her. Though she never had kids of her own, she had many "kids" who called her their second mom; I was one of them. I can go on for days to describe the beautiful person that she was, and of all her countless deeds; for humans and animals. She was not just a supervisor to me at some job, she was also my friend. Oh how I wish I could hear her high pitched excited voice and infectious giggle, and to be able to hug her one more time. Though I'm not a believer in anything beyond this mortal life, if there is indeed an afterlife, I wish for Mary Lynne that she's at peace, is happy having been reunited with her mom Barbara, her husband Terry, her aunt Elena, and all those who passed on that she cared deeply for; including all her fur babies. To her sister Kathy (whom has turned into a wonderful friend to me), her siblings, the many nieces, nephews, grandkids and great-grandkids, know that in your lives you were all blessed with an angel in Mary Lynne. My condolences to each of you during this immense loss. If there is anything I can assist with, please don't hesitate to reach out. I will be here for you. And to Mary Lynne, I want you to know that you will forever be in my heart, and I will remember you for as long as I have breath. Until we meet again Momma Bear. Rest in Peace.

Efrain, your write up is so absolutely beautiful! I did not have the opportunity to know Mary Lynn like you, but have been great friends with her dear sister, Kathy, who is so heartbroken. She is amazing, and is trying so hard to take care of everything, and her animals, especially , thanks Efrain

Mama, I’m crippled with sadness and words simply fail me. I have soo many questions why you? why now and each time I break down a million times. Your majestic presence was warm and inviting. When I first met you, you saw potential in me and promised to nurture and provide me with the necessary tools to succeed in my nursing career and for that I’m forever grateful.
My heartbroken because I’ll never get to take you to Kenya to see the great savana lands and all the beautiful wildlife, oh how we both looked forward to that. I will miss sharing pictures of my trips around the world with you. We planned soo many trips that we’ll never get to take together; but each time I travel I promise I will travel with you in my heart.
I will miss your warm hugs, your listening ear, our hearty laughs and always without fail “I love you my daughter Naisianoi”. You were pure and genuine and that’s what I loved most about you.
Without a doubt you were protective of your Extended Family and made us all feel at home, appreciated and loved.
To Kathy and the rest of the family my heart goes out to you, having experienced Mary Lynn’s true genuine love for those she cared about I know firsthand this is not easy for you. I pray for peace and comfort.
