Condolences

My sincere condolences to Charlie's family. He was one of the most sincere, honest, and caring men I have ever met and was a great mentor to us "young guys" at the firehouse. The thing I will remember about Charlie was he was always on his way to help someone.

Truly one of West Caln’s Best!! Charlie would help out anyone and  was one of the last people to leave after completing any task.. Charlie put a huge amount of his life in to Wagontown Fire Company.. Charlie was a big part of so many lives at the fire house and you could almost always find him there either running call’s, maintaining the fire house or apparatus, working Bingo along with all the other fund raiser’s, taking classes or just spending time with the crew’s and keeping some of us out of trouble…Charlie even took time to drive some of us to the Coatesville’s Prom back in the 90’s on Wagontown’s Rescue truck. Today you do not find many people as loyal and dedicated as Charles was..

You will be missed Chief…

"Chuckie", Among other things, I will miss our talks before, during and after watching the Phillies play!  You have many family members to catch up with but please be sure to tell John, Shirley and Mom we all miss them every day as we will you!!

Don't worry about Kerri, we will take good care of her.

My heart is heavy as we say another hard goodbye.

So sorry to hear about Charlie’s passing. He was a great man to be around. He and I had some great times at the firehouse, and he dished out as much as he took. I’ll never forget how excited he was when i came back from college. He took me in under his wing as many did, but he would also tell me point blank if he disagreed with me on anything. I’ll always remember him with his cigars, and his dogs. The man loved his dogs. He was a great man and I’m glad I have some awesome memories of Charlie. Never a dull moment with him! My condolences to the family, and may they find peace in knowing that he’s left a wonderful lasting impression on the community!

To put into words, what Charlie meant to the community of West Caln, his dedication both him and his late wife, Shirley, put into Wagontown Fire Co., and the impact he had on everyone who knew him…it’s tough.

His personality, his humor, and his overall stubbornness lol will never be forgotten. Growing up around Wagontown Fire Co, and hearing all the stories of him working with my dad at Armstrong Engineering, there was always something to say about Charlie. He was a kind person, and a mentor, and anyone who knew him was more than blessed to have done so.

Words can’t describe how it feels to lose someone one that was pretty much like family to so many. He put so many people before himself and it shows in all the things people say about him.

I wish his family find peace and know that he was a truly awesome person! His memory will forever live on in the stories told around the firehouse, around Armstrong, and around all the people that got to know him well.

Rest easy chief. You’ll be missed and you have truly left your mark on this community. It was an honor knowing you.
