Norman Westley Semple, 65, of Coatesville, PA, passed away on Wednesday, January 5, 2022, in West Chester. Born in Lancaster, PA, he was the son of the late Foster Leroy and Mary Cox Semple.
Norman worked for over thirty years as a driver for Entenmann's Baking Company, retiring about ten years ago. Norman was a huge Philly sports Phan and loved going to Phillies and Eagles games as often as he could. He was once a member of a bowling league, numerous softball leagues, and loved poker nights and playing cards.
He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Debbie Semple of Coatesville, his children; Jennifer Semple of Coatesville, Matt (Jennifer) Semple of Lumberton, NJ, Samantha (Warner) Semple-Williams of Woodlyn, PA, and Amanda Semple of Coatesville, Grandchildren; Christina, Stephen, Shawn, Gabrianna, Brody, Everleigh, Emma, Keeva, and Caine Semple, and siblings; Barbara Reese, Sandra Cross, and Emma Brooks. He also leaves behind his beloved dog Vick. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Lee Whitman, Charles Whitman, Jane Phillips, Richard Whitman, and Roy Semple.
A memorial drop-in will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 22, 2022, at the Wilde Funeral Home, Parkesburg. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Stroke Association.

Sincere Sympathies
Norman is the last of my father's siblings. As a half-brother, he was born later and I fondly remember him playing "football" in the hallway (with him on his knees), or playing sports outside, or playing "king of the mountain" and rolling down the hill. This is a real blow to me. My sincere sympathies to the remaining family.

My sincere condolences to Norman's family. When we were both younger we were more like brothers than cousins. I'm just sorry we didn't stay in touch more later in life. He will be sorely missed. May he rest in God's loving arms
Miss you pops
My dad (big Norm) was a cool guy, who got along with pretty much everyone he came in contact with. Selfishly I wish we all had more time with him, because he was such a good time. Golfing, sporting events and family functions will not be the same without you.... but we will hold onto all the memories and great times we had, You instilled so much into so many people, and for that I am thankful. You did good pops, and certainly did it your way! Fly High

Norman was a good man!
Norman was a co-worker of mine at Entenmann’s as well as a friend. Through the course of my 30 years at the big ‘E’, Norman was a steady and able member of the band of “pack mules” that we were. The only true remedy for this was humor. Norman’s personality had plenty of that, I’ll never forget his bartone laugh, and kind heart. So at the end of life, all a man can ask of his contemporaries is “Was I a good man.” And I will the first to confirm that, “Norman Semple was a good man!
A life well lived, blessed
A life well lived, blessed with children, grandchildren and a family that cared for him. My childhood friend who I spent countless hours drinking Pepsi's, playing whiffle ball in his backyard and attempting to beat his home court advantage on his pool table. Many a time he "hustled" those of us lacking the necessary skills in billiards and bowling where he excelled. I tried many times to "adjust" my bowling score but Norm was a math wiz and never missed my attempt at misleading my score. Norm, I'll never forget your first two cars which you shared with those of your buddies driving us to play basketball, get ice cream or just driving around C'ville back in the '70's. We both loved "Kansas" and music of the era, your Oldsmobile stereo was awesome and it was experience hanging out with you. Although our lives took us on different paths, the days of our youth were memorable to me and others that hung our in your yard which hosted many football games on your front lawn. Thank you for your friendship, Rest In Peace my brother. -Mark
