David Samuel Dunfee, 90, of West Grove, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, July 6, 2021. He was the beloved husband of Sharon (Sexton) Dunfee with whom he shared 42 years of marriage.

David was born in Oxford, Pennsylvania to Theodore and Anna (Devonshire) Dunfee.   He lived in the area his entire life. He was employed as a carpenter with the Carpenter Local Union #626 of New Castle, Delaware beginning in 1951.

David and Sharon were charter members of Highland Baptist Church, Parkesburg, Pennsylvania. He was known by many, including church members, as "The Candyman" because he enjoyed passing out special mints he carried with him where ever he went.

He is survived, in addition to his wife, by five children; Diane Bell of New Castle, Delaware, Joyce Ashley and husband Bobby of Zolfo Springs, Florida, Wayne Dunfee and wife Jane of Glasgow, Delaware, Dawn Oatman and husband Jeremy of Christiana, Pennsylvania and Matthew Dunfee, Sr. of West Grove, Pennsylvania, 15 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and one sister Mary Nickloy of Lenexa, Kansas. He was preceded in death by his son David S. Dunfee, Jr., eight brothers; Ted, Art, Jimmy, Harold, Willard, Paul, Donnie and Warren and three sisters; Ruth, Esther and Beatrice.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 15, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Highland Baptist Church, 1 E. Highland Road, Parkesburg, Pennsylvania 19365. Family and friends are also invited to attend the viewing at the church from 10:00 AM.

Burial will be private on Friday, July 16, 2021 at the Silverbrook Cemetery, Wilmington, Delaware.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his memory to the Highland Baptist Church at the above address.

Our deepest sympathy to oyu and to your family Diane and praying for the Lord's strength and comfort. You and your family loss your Dad but it's a great comfort that he is a follower of our Lord Jesus Christ and his body's passing away is a Gain for him for his soul and spirit is in the presence of God. When the Lord comes, that soul and body will be together again and there will be no sickness, no more pain and no more death. It is not goodbye but see you again. Praise the Lord!
