Elmer F. Halterman, 84, formerly of Parkesburg, died at Harrison Senior Living of Christiana on  February 20, 2019.  He was the widow of the late Dorothy Kolodski Halterman who passed away on March 8, 2018, after 57 years of marriage.

Born in Coatesville, he was the son of the late Edgar and Clara Pluck Halterman. He served our nation honorably in the US Army from 1957-1959.  He worked as a plate marker at Lukens Steel, was a well driller for Leroy Myers and a block layer for Van MacIntyre.  He was a member of the Parkesburg United Methodist Church, Goddard Masonic Lodge, the Rajah Shrine of Reading and the Parkesburg VFW.

He is survived by two daughters; Darlene Garver of Ronks and Patricia Welsh and husband, Randy of Parkesburg, four grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and a sister, Thelma Simms of Parkesburg.  

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 23, 2019, at 11:00 AM at the Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St. Parkesburg, PA with visitation from 10:00- 10:45 AM.  The Masonic service will take place at 10:45.  Interment will follow at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Parkesburg United Methodist Church, 411 Main St. Parkesburg, PA 19365.

I was very sad to learn of the passing of my lifelong neighbor. Both Elmer & Dot were the best neighbors anyone could hope for. Condolences to the family.
