Dorothie M. Wallace, 96, of Coatesville, passed away on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at her daughter's home surrounded by her family. She was the wife of the late Charles B. Wallace who died in 2004. Born in West Caln Twp., she was the daughter of the late Cletus and Emily Beam Miller.
Dorothie was a life long area resident and a 1941 Graduate of the former Scott High School in Coatesville. She worked at Luken's Steel as a Secretary. She was then employed for 49 years at the former Devitt's Hardware Store in Coatesville. She also served for over 16 years as a tax collector for West Caln Township. Dorothie was also employed at King's Highway Elementary School where she was able to love children while she served as an aide and cafeteria worker.
Dorothie was a life member of the Wagontown and Martins Corner Fire Company Ladies Auxiliaries and she was a member of the Wagontown Union Chapel. Dorothie volunteered for N.A.G.E R3-35 located at the Coatesville VA Medical Center.
She is survived by one daughter Claudia W. Moore of West Caln, five grandchildren and two great grandsons. She was preceded in death by one son Cletus F. Wallace and three siblings; Laurence W. Miller, Lenora Michnuk and William Miller.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 9, 2018 at 11:00 AM at the Wagontown Union Chapel, 469 W Kings Hwy, Coatesville, PA 19320. Family and friends are also invited to attend the viewing from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at the Pequea Presbyterian Cemetery.
