Edna L. Schultz, 96, of New Holland, passed away on Thursday, December 28, 2017 at the Zerbe Sisters Nursing Center of Narvon, PA. She was the widow of the late Donald Schultz who died in 1993. Born in Russellville, PA, she was the daughter of the late Sara McHenry.
Edna grew up in Chester County and was a 1938 graduate of the Cochranville High School. During WWII she was employed by the Lukens Steel Company of Coatesville as a security guard. Later in life she enjoyed handing out food samples at grocery stores and making friends everywhere she went. She also enjoyed reading and logged the authors and titles of thousands of books she'd read. Most of all, she was known for her needlepoint and loved making doorstops and tissue box covers personalized just for them. She was an avid Penn State and Philadelphia Phillies fan and watched every game she could. Her favorite place to spend time was in the Mountains of Pennsylvania, spotting for deer. She lived life to the fullest and will be missed.
She was a longtime member of the Olivet United Methodist Church of Coatesville and in recent years had attended Dove Westgate Church of Ephrata.
She is survived by two sons; R. Douglas Schultz and wife Cathy of Lunenburg, Nova Scotia and David B. Schultz and wife Ruthi of New Holland and five grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, January 6. The family will receive friends from 2-3pm with the service starting at 3pm at the Dove Westgate Church, 1755 W. Main Street, Ephrata, PA 17522. A light meal & sharing memories will follow the service. Graveside service will be privately held with the immediate family. In leu of flowers, please consider a donation to Hospice & Community Care, 685 Good Dr, Lancaster, PA 17601.
