Gary L. "Uncle Ducky" Smith, Sr., 60, of East Fallowfield, passed away on Wednesday, July 19th at his home.  He was the beloved husband of Angela (Erdman) Smith with whom he spent 21 years of his life with,12 of them married.  

Born in Coatesville, Gary was the son of Miriam (Neff) and George H. Smith.  He attended Coatesville Area School District and worked in Manufacturing.  

Gary was a very friendly outgoing man.  He had a beautiful soul and anyone that met him and got to know him loved him.  He loved to tinker with things to get them working again!!! He loved family and enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren, brothers and his sister!
 
Gary is survived, in addition to his wife, by his three children: Tanya Lee Smith, Gary L. Smith, Jr. and Sheena Marie Smith; stepdaughter, Marina McCann Garcia, wife of Abdon, eight grandchildren and four siblings, George F. Smith of Thorndale, Theodore A. Smith of Christiana, PA, Dennis R. Smith of Coatesville and Debra J. Culbertson and companion Rich Hallam of Coatesville.  He was predeceased by his siblings, Carol Mahaffey, Robert J. Smith and Gerald W. Smith.  

The Memorial Service will be held on Friday, July 28th at 2 PM at the Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St., Parkesburg with visitation from 1 until 2 PM.  

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to directly to the Wilde Funeral Home to help offset funeral expenses for the family.

Angie, I'm so sorry for your loss. May the memories of your time together give you strength and comfort through these difficult times. Gary was a beautiful soul, and more than a brother in law to me. He was a friend. He was the life of every family gathering and party. He was full of love laughter and life. He will truly be missed. We can all take comfort in knowing he is with his mom and dad, his bothers Bob and Jerry, and his sister Carol. Rest In Peace Gary. We love you.

His sudden loss has certainly reminded me that we can never truly prepare for the loss of a loved one and that life is so precious and fragile. I will always remember the good moments Gary brought into my life. I can still hear his laughter and still see him smiling in the back of my mind.
I believe he is in a better place now and that he's watching over. My heart goes out to Gary's family & friends. Please know that my thoughts & prayers are with you.
I will miss you dear friend.
