Dawn A. Paup, 66, of Parkesburg, passed away on Friday, February 10th at Brandywine Hall in West Chester.  She was the wife of Fred E. Paup, with whom she shared 25 years of marriage.

Born in Coatesville, Dawn was the daughter of the late Sara M. (Rissel) and Fred H. Casey, Sr.

Dawn was a 1968 graduate of Octorara High School.  She worked as a Jewelry Supervisor at QVC in West Chester.

Dawn loved to live and lived to love. She cared deeply for people and often put other's needs before her own. Although diagnosed with Alzheimer's at the early age of 55, she was still full of love, light and joy. She was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother and friend and will truly be missed. Her spirit will live in our hearts forever.

Dawn is survived, in addition to her husband, by her two daughters, Season Geary of Chester Springs and Shannon Williams of Ardmore; her sons, Zach Paup of Parkesburg, Josh Paup, husband of Amanda, of Ridley Park, and Kyle Paup, husband of Jessica, of Morton; six grandchildren; and one brother, Fred Casey, Jr. of Gap.

She was predeceased by two siblings, Gary Lee Casey and Gail A. Casey.

The memorial service will be held on Monday, February 20 at 11:30 AM at Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St., Parkesburg, with visitation from 10 AM until the time of the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alzheimer's Research in Dawn's name at http://act.alz.org/goto/dawns_light.

Some facts on Alzheimer's:

--- There is no cure for Alzheimer's disease. The number of Americans living with Alzheimer's disease is growing - and growing fast. An estimated 5.4 million Americans of all ages have Alzheimer's disease in 2016.
--- Of the 5.4 million Americans with Alzheimer's, an estimated 5.2 million people are age 65 and older, and approximately 200,000 individuals are under age 65 (younger-onset Alzheimer's).
--- One in nine people age 65 and older has Alzheimer's disease.
--- By mid-century, someone in the United States will develop the disease every 33 seconds.
--- By 2050, the number of people age 65 and older with Alzheimer's disease may nearly triple, from 5.2 million to a projected 13.8 million, barring the development of medical breakthroughs to prevent or cure the disease.

In 2016, Alzheimer's and other dementias will cost the nation $236 billion.

Sincere Sympathy and Prayers to the Family of Dawn.  I am saddened to hear of Dawn's passing, although she is at Peace now and has really been strong dealing with her condition these past years.  Dawn and I started our friendship at Parkesburg Elementary school.  Every weekend, she would be at my house or we would be at her house.  I am going through pictures visually and sorting Memories mentally, and find it very hard.  As we started attending Octorara School, the good times really started.  You could find us every weekend at Parkesburg Skating Rink, Westwood Fire Co. Dances and Coatesville Movie Theater, which when was over, we walked to 8th Ave. to Dawn's grandparents house.  Dawn and I had so much in common way back then.  We both loved to dance, liked alot of laughter and liked the same kind of clothing and the list goes on.  When The Beatles first appeared on The Ed Sullivan Show, we were at my house sitting on the floor as close to the tv, we could get.  We both got so excited and my Dad actually was scared to watch us two party.  My Dad and Dawn's Dad were both TV Technicians. But both Dad's loved us to pieces.  They were excited for Dawn and me to take the school trip to The New York World's Fair in the 60's and we had fun as usual.  They were the Good Old Days.  I will always cherish "Memories of Dawn" and She will always have a Special Place in my Heart.

I know that Dawn is looking down especially as a Guardian Angel to Judi, Nancy, Faye and Brenda(just a few of her many devoted friends/class-mates).

Tenderly...May God's Love heal your sorrow, Gently...May the Prayers of Friends ease your hurting, Softly...May God's Peace replace your heartache with warm and loving Memories - This I extend to"The Entire Family Of Dawn."

With Caring Thoughts, Prayers and Sincere Sympathy.

Dawn was a wonderful and special friend.  I remember all of the times we would sit on the phone and talk about all of the things that kids talk about  We rode around together and went to Pomeroy dances once in a while.    Once in school we were clowning around with a compass and I accidentally stabbed her in the finger then she stabbed me, we put our fingers together and that was the day she became my "blood sister," and that's how we always referred to one another.

I'm going to miss you Dawn.

Dawn was also one of my best childhood friends. We spent alot of time at each others houses and going to the Westwood and Pomeroy dances with alot of our friends. Dawn was one of a kind and I will cherish her memory forever. Even after we were both married with children I would take my kids to her house for play time. Fred and Sally were the best. May she be at peace now...fly high ...spread your wings...your free now

My heart was broken when I heard my aunt Dawn died. She has always held a special place in my heart. I will always remember her ceramics she made, fun times at her house as a kid, I spent the night there the night of the earthquake. I am so happy to know she is at peace. I won't be able to make the service which makes me sad, I will be in NY but know that I am thinking of you season and Shannon. Stay strong for each other. Hugs

My heart is so heavy with sadness after reading about our good friend, Dawn.  I could share so many stories of this special friend.  We were roommates when we lived in Newark, Del.  We only had one car so I would take her to work at her job with Avon in the morning.  I remember one time driving home for a visit and we saw a girl hitch hiking, Dawn asked me turn around and pick her up.  The girl was a college student heading home to Lancaster so we drove her home.  I remember when Season was born, I went over to where Dawn was living and set up a bassinet before she came home from the hospital.  When my job was transferring me to the northeast, Dawn would watch my son Michael while I was looking for a place for us to live.  She was always there for her friends and ready to help them in time of need.  My thoughts are with her family and pray they will find strength coping with such a loss of a beautiful wife, mom and grandmother.  All of us will cherish our memories of this loving friend.

I had the priviledge to be Dawn's social worker for a couple of years when I worked at Brandywine Hall. I was both thankful and sad to hear she had passed because of how the diease had robbed her of so much. I know that Heaven truly is a better place fo her now. I know she is at peace and likely dancing with the angels. She was so full of life even in the more moderate  stages of the disease. I always loved seeing her smile and her big loving hugs. She loved her family and that was evident even if she could no longer call them by name. She would light up in their presence. My condenlences go toward the entire family as I know that this has been a LONG road and each step of the way you have grieved while she was still here. I can't imagine how HARD of a road you had to travel to continue to love her, support her, and be advocates for her. I commend you! I pray that you can be at peace to and find comfort and solace  in all you did for her and the memories you made. My thoughts and prayers are with you all!

To Dawn's family, I was so sad to hear of Dawn's passing.  She was what I would call "Everyones Friend."  My mother-in-law lived with us as we dealt with her alzheimers.  So sad and very difficult for Dawn and her family.  We know she is "Home" now.  Remembering that death can't take our memories away as we cling to them.  May the love of our God, your family, and many friends give you peace, comfort and strength in the weeks and months ahead.  With heartfelt love and prayers,  Cheryl and Ken Reimold

We were so sorry to hear of the passing of Dawn.  It was just a day before when, heavy hearted, you spoke of her deteriorating condition at our home.  You were blessed to have such a wonderful woman for the time you did.  You tirelessly went to be with her every day, even when those days left you with tears.  Our home is always open to you, we love you Fred!  Dawn has her wings now and will always be following you.
