Pamel Harer Root passed from this world on January 16, 2017. Pamel was a fun-loving individual with panache and style. She loved gardening and nature, and enjoyed working in and viewing her yard, which has been certified as a Backyard Wildlife Habitat by the National Wildlife Federation.
Pamel spent her life collecting and preserving antiques, including ladies' hats and accessories. Her love of nature and antiques lead her to employment at Longwood Gardens -- where she held various positions, including preparing the annual Christmas display -- as well as at Winterthur Museum and Gardens, and Nemours Mansion, all DuPont estates. Pamel also loved to write, and spent years writing freelance for the Coatesville Record Daily News.
Pamel was a beloved wife and mother, and is survived by her husband Frank, her son Trevor, and her sister, Kim Ezell.
In remembrance of her, she has requested that friends and loved ones donate to their favorite charity, or hang and maintain a birdhouse or bird feeder in their yard to help bring nature's beauty into their life.
At Pamel's request, no funeral or memorial service will be held, but Frank and Trevor welcome visitors who would like to pay their respects at her home: 610.857.1268.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Wilde Funeral Home of Parkesburg. Online condolences can be posted at www.wildefuneralhome.com
Condolences
Frank and Trevor,
Frank and Trevor,
All of us at the pharmacy are saddened to hear of Pamel's passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with you both.
From A Friend
So easy to like! That phrase applied to Pamel. Smiles, sunshine and flowers, sparkling streams and singing birds, more smiles and sunshine - all words that were such a large part of who Pamel was. While Pamel will be greatly missed by all who knew her, blooming flowers, always with us, will be a reminder of someone who had to have been one of the universe's favorite children.
To Pamel's family - I'm sorry for your sadness and tears, but golden memories always seem to prevail, and memories of Pamel will always be truly golden.
Our deepest sympathy
Dear Frank and Trevor, Our deepest sympathy and prayers during this difficult time. Our thoughts of Pamel are all the fun times socializing at CCC. May God give you peace. Sincerely, Sandy and Charlie Maul and family
