Condolences

My sincere condolences to Chetty's family and friends. Our lives were enriched by him being a part of them.

In a time when things were bleak in my life, Chetty gave me a job and began a wonderful friendship. I will miss his sense of humor, his outlook on life, and his infectious laugh.

My sincere condolence to the Taylor family and to the Westwood Fire Company, Station 44. I have known Chetty for many years and I guess we met in the early 70's at the old Chester County Fire School in Thorndale. I heard so many things about Chetty and his dad from our friend, Buddy Eshleman. I am sure the three of them are together somewhere, now! Chetty was always fun to be around and he always made those around him feel better! Chetty took his craft (plumbing) and his firefighting very seriously and I believe that he was an expert at both. I really hadn't seen him since the benefit for Doug McGuigan in Pomeroy this summer but we did make contact and I am greatful for that! Chetty will be missed by so many people and I know that he loved the Westwood Fire Company! Godspeed Chetty and sleep warm!

ALTHOUGH WE NEVER MET EITHER OF YOU, WE HAVE KNOWN CHETTY FOR MANY, MANY YEARS. HE WAS A JUNIOR AT WESTWOOD FIRE COMPANY WHEN WE MOVED TO WESTWOOD AND MY HUSBAND JOINED THE FIRE COMPANY. HE WAS OUR PLUMBER WHEN HIS BROTHER-IN-LAW, BILL HOUSER, OWNED THE COMPANY, AND WHEN HE BECAME THE OWNER, HE WAS STILL OUR PLUMBER. HE ALWAYS HAD A FUNNY STORY TO TELL OR A JOKE TO SHARE, AND HE WAS ALWAYS AN HONEST BUSINESSMAN. WE HOPE THAT HIS SON WILL FOLLOW IN HIS FATHER'S FOOTSTEPS. CHETTY WILL BE MISSED BY EVERYONE WHO EVER KNEW HIM. MAY GOD KEEP YOU BOTH IN THE PALM OF HIS HAND UNTIL YOU SEE CHETTY AGAIN.

FRAN & JIM

To Chetty's family,
I grew up with Chetty in Westwood. When you grow up in a small neighborhood like we had back then you make friends forever even if you haven't seem them in a long time becuase when you did it was like you never parted. Chetty was a true firefighter at heart but he was also a funny, gentle, kind person. He ate many meals at my parents house (Ben & Betty Bireley) as did many of the Westwood kids. He will be sadly missed becuase when you grow up with people there is a bond that can't be broken and this hits home hard. To Chetter, your can always be proud of your father and grandfather. They were wonderful people and always did good for others. I pray for you and your family and I believe God will hold you close always but espically now.
This isn't good bye dear friend, it's just C'ya later.
Janie (Bireley) Abel

Chetty was so kind to me and my family. No matter when I would call him with a plumbing problem he would always come. We would end up talking about our famlies. He was so proud of his son and proud to be a father. I have lived in Westwood for 50 years and I remember Chetty as a young boy and he was always smiling and would always take the time to say hello. I remember when his son was just a little guy that he brought him over so that I could see him. He was just glowing with pride. I will truly miss his smile and kind words.

Dear Family,
Your in my thoughts and prayers. Even though he was here such a short
time. He was here long enough for us to see what a great father and friend
he was. It takes a special person to put on that gear and do what
he did. Not many people can do what it takes to be a firefighter, a hero.
I have many memories of Chetty, but the one I'll always remember when I
think of him is him showing up at the bus stop to get his son off my
school bus. My memory of him is as a father, he was always happy when he
was with his son, the proud dad. I know he'll always be looking
down from heaven watching his son. God Bless.
