Maurie Glick, 69, of Philadelphia, died on Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at the Taylor Hospital in Ridley Park, PA. He was the beloved husband of Sharyn H. March Glick with whom he shared 44 years of marriage. Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Irvin and Lenore Brill Glick.
Maurie proudly served as a Corpsman in the US Navy in Vietnam. After the war he continued his education and became a registered nurse and was employed by various local hospitals.
He is survived, in addition to his wife, by three sons; Jeremy Glick of Aldan, PA, Josh Glick and wife Tammy of Atglen, PA and Chris Glick and wife Rachel of Coatesville and five grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at 2:00pm from the Upper Octorara Cemetery, 357 Octorara Road, Parkesburg, PA 19365.

Sharyn and Family we are sorry to hear of your loss. Kev and I attended the Upper Octorara Presbyterian Church years ago and our sons were together with baseball games and etc. some the same age. I remember your husband I think he was the first Male nurse I ever knew. You keep all your fond memories of him the times you spent together. Prayers for you and your Family.

I am so sorry for your loss. I know it is tough losing a loved one. I would like to give you some words of encouragement that helped me cope. A lot of people have been told things by others all their life and they believe what they are told just because they want to believe it and it sounds wonderful. What I would like to tell you though is not my opinion or my thoughts but God’s thoughts from the Bible, so please look at your Bible and see the truth. God promises that we will live again but it is not like what most people think. Please look at Revelation chapter 21 and verses 3 & 4 very closely. If you notice here it talks about death and pain being no more now ask yourself is there pain and death in Heaven? That scripture is talking about right here on Earth a kingdom that will be set up and ruled by Jesus that will rid mankind of death and pain, please look at Daniel 2 verse 44 and see that this is a real kingdom. I graduated from HUP with Maurie in 1972. I am very sorry to hear of his passing. He was a good nurse and a very nice person. He was also the first male graduate from HUP. Please accept my sincere condolences.
