Shirley Gilmore Robbins, 81, of Ronks, PA, passed away at her home on Thursday, April 21, 2016. She was the beloved wife of Bruce A. Robbins with whom she shared 59 years of marriage. Born in Coatesville, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Dorothy Rice Gilmore.
Shirley was an area resident all her life. She was employed by the US Postal Service as a mail carrier and years ago, was employed by the Bell Telephone Co. in Parkesburg. She was a member of the Parkesburg United Methodist Church.
She is survived, in addition to her husband, by five children; Mary Jane Robbins of Ronks, Karen L., wife of Ed Steffy of Christiana, Lisa M. Radcliff of Ronks, Gregory Robbins and wife Wendy of Atglen and Steven Gilmore and wife Beverly of Christiana, nine grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and two siblings; Rodney Gilmore of Quarryville and Eleanor Mann of Arizona. She was preceded in death by one sister Virginia McClay, one granddaughter Nicole Gilmore and one grandson Steven Gilmore, II.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at 2:30pm from the Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St. Parkesburg, PA followed by interment at the Upper Octorara Cemetery. Viewing from 1:30 to 2:30pm.
