My deepest sympathies to all
My deepest sympathies to all the family. Not realizing the connection, I had gotten to know Nick in recent years through his good friend David, here in Delaware. A very nice, smart philosophical young man. Prayers for peace, strength & healing. May Nicks memory be a sweet blessing to all.
Condolences
My deepest condolences. It is never easy for a Parent to have to say good bye to a child. But no one is ever really gone. They live on in our thoughts and memories. The pain os real but it will pass and one day a memory will creep in of something you did together, or something that he said that made you laugh . That will be Nick saying he is OK.
I am so sorry for your loss.
I am so sorry for your loss. We are your neighbors at 539. Nick was such a nice boy and always played with my son. We are here for anything you need.
Former apartment 533
Im the blonde haired lady with the two young kids that moved out of 533 around August. Nick and I shared many quiet days sitting on our front porches talking about books. I've watched him sit on the porch and read through many pages. He was always a good kid. My heart reaches out to you all in this time of tragedy. I will keep you all in my prayers. I'll always remember that quiet kid sitting on the porch.

Mary, Our little Church will never be quite the same--many of us referred to Nick as "our sweet boy"------Nicks spirit inspired us---Nick made us laugh at ourselves and quite frankly "think"---I told you all this at our picnic--just wanted to tell you once again what a fine Son Nick was--there have been many tears shed in the last week--my Prayer is that Nick knew how much we loved him-Parmalle Hershey

Happy Memories
We are all shocked and deeply saddened by the news. Nick was a special young man and one of David's closest friends. David always looked forward to driving up to Parkesburg, picking up Nick, and driving back to Delaware for a weekend marathon of movies and video games. Nick was always very polite and respectful. I'm grateful David was able to stay connected after moving from Parkesburg over four years ago. David has many happy memories with Nick and he will be fondly remembered by all. Our family extends their heartfelt sympathies.
Nick - a highly cherished and influential person in my life
I cherish Nick. I always have and I forever will. He was a gift to my life and influenced me in unimaginable ways. I am deeply affected by this loss and I send warmth to the Haugh family and friends. Nick was an angel on this earth. Kind and empathetic, high-principled - a beautiful person inside and out. I feel honored to have been personally connected to someone of such enormous value. Sending love to all affected and let us carry Nick's influence with us everyday. He embodied the essence of goodness and kindness. Much love to him. I love you Nick.

Mary and family I am sorry to hear of your loss. Your family is in the thoughts and prayers of many.
You are in my thoughts and prayers
I was so sorry to hear the sad news of Nick's passing! I had Nick in 8th grade CA class. He was a special young man. I will always remember him. My heart goes out to his family.
Nick Haugh
I was lucky to know Nick for as long as I did. To me, he was just another random face in this high school I had just been shoveled into. What made him stand out was his classic deadpan commentary to anything you'd say; he didn't act like it but he was a million laughs. I didn't really talk to a lot of people during my high school years, he was among the people in Mr. Hadfields room that I was closest to...it's unbelievable that he'd just go like that...it's saddening when the people in your life just suddenly disappear, and you never see them again...my sincere obituaries to this wonderful man who kept us laughing through his "misery"
I'm so sorry to hear this news
Mary and family,
I am so sorry to hear of this news. Nick was such a sweet boy. I remember standing at the bus stop waiting for the bus to come and either pick up or drop off Nick and the boy I was babysitting when they were in kindergarten...
I also reconnected with him when I became the libarry assistant for the library in the Jr High. He loved to read and would always talk to me when he came in for books.
love and hugs to you and your family,
Sheryl Malinics and family (S Culvert St neighbors in P'sburg)
Prayers for the Haugh Family

To the family of Nicholas, I am truly saddened to learn about his passing. Nicholas was a student in my American Government class last spring and his sweet nature made a lasting impression on me. You have my sincerest condolences.

My deepest, most sincere
My deepest, most sincere condolences to the Haugh family. I was Nick's advisor at WCU and had the pleasure of teaching him in one class here -- sort of an intro-to-philosophy course -- where he savored every reading and every conversation. He was a remarkable student, beloved by many faculty in the English department, and by every student who knew him.

To Nick's parents
We don't know each other but I wanted to share this with you: I never knew Nick's name until I recognized his face in the photo on this page. I saw him regularly on the 5th floor of Main Hall at WCU, where I work, usually sitting in the hallway with a book in his hand. What stood out about Nick was that he always called out a sincere "Hi, how are you", with a smile and a nod of his head. He didn't ignore me like most students do, didn't wait for me to make eye contact, just went out of his way to greet me, every time. Even though our paths never crossed in a classroom and we never exchanged more than a greeting, he became one of my favorite people at WCU and I could tell he was a unique and remarkable person. I just want you to know that I will always remember him. I'm thinking about your family and praying for you all. -- Ola Kopacz

On the loss of your son, Nick
As I work in one of the administrative offices on the West Chester University campus, I don't often have a lot of contact with students so I did not know Nick. But having read the notes of condolence here from your friends, it seems that Nick was a very fine young man. Which makes his death all the more stunning to us. His past & potential contributions to our campus, in his classes, in his community here and at home, will be greatly missed. In your grieving, please know that all of us at WCU also feel deep sadness at the loss of our student, your precious son, Nick. Peace be with you.

So saddened and sorry for your loss
I am deeply saddened by the news of the loss of Nick. He was in two of my classes and was the kindest, brightest and most curious of students. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
Remberance
Although I did not have the fortune of Nick being in any of my English courses, I came to "know" him on the 5th floor of Main Hall where he often sat. Nick never failed to look up from his work or reading to nod his head, smile, and say hello. Even if I walked past him, too pre-occupied to acknowledge him, he would still greet me. Nick's actions have reminded me how this simple act of a genuine smile and friendly hello connects people in a very disconnected world. I will miss him.
Hi Charlene,
Hi Charlene,
I'm Nick's father. Nick used to commute with me. He always liked to be dropped off at Main hall. I remember asking him what he does at Main? He said there's a teacher that he likes to talk to but he never had the teacher for any of his classes. He must have been talking about you. Thank you for being a friend to him!

Deepest Thoughts and Prayers
I am extending my deepest thoughts and prayers are to the Haugh Family. May God comfort and give you more strength in this time. RIP Nick.
Praying for you
Mary, Elisa's friend Hannah shared the news about Nick. Please know how my heart hurts for you, and how much you will be in our thoughts and prayers. I wish there were words I could say that would take away your pain, but we both know it's not that simple. I can say, though, that when Mike died the thing that carried me was to turn to God's Word, even when it was hard or I didn't feel like it. Even if you can cling to one promise at a time, let this be your anchor! Remember: "The eternal God is thy refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms." Please be assured that our prayers are with you. I would love to talk to you if a time comes when you would like that.
Deepest symthathies
Jim, I am so very saddened to hear the news of your sons passing. You and your family will be in my prayers. Remember the good times and also that even in your darkest hour, you are not alone.
Heartfelt Condolences
I work at West Chester University and am fortunate to have met Nick when he first enrolled. I fondly recall Nick's many visits to our department; he always wore a smile that brightened even the dreariest of days. Along with that smile came a wave of his hand, a nod of his head and a greeting that was absolutely genuine. Although Nick will be missed by all of us here in the OSSD, his memory will live on and his spirit will continue to fill our hearts.
Deepest Sympathy
Hello friends and family of Nick,
I am a peer of Nick's, and a fellow English major. I was fortunate to have a class with him last Spring, and he was always the friendliest and had great input and ideas. Everytime I saw him he would extend a hello to me.
I am very sorry to hear about your loss, and my memories of him will always bring me good feelings and thoughts.
Thanks
Thanks everyone for the kind words. Nick was a great son to me, and he is dearly missed. He certainly suffered a lot of anxiety related to his youth and struggle with autism. I'm not sure if taking the drug Abilify had anything to do with Nick jumping off the parking garage at West Chester University, but on that day, something went wrong with Nick's beautiful and innocent mind. Nick was a gift to the earth for 21 years. His passing is a great loss to me and many other people. How ironic that Nick was named after Saint Nicholas, and he jumped on Christmas day....
