Shirley A. McDonnell, 75, of Tel Hai Retirement Community, died on Friday, January 14, 2011. She was the wife of James McDonnell also of Tel Hai and her first husband the late Carl W. Geesey, II who died in 1979. Born in Unionville, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Frances Patton Linnenbaugh.
Shirley graduated from the Unionville High School in 1953. She was a member of St. Simon and Jude Parish and had been attending the Romansville Methodist Church.
She is survived, in addition to her husband, by two sons; Carl W. "Bill" Geesey, III of Lancaster and Michael R. Geesey and wife Belinda of Narvon, seven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and two siblings; Jean Leary of Honey Brook and Walter Linnenbaugh of Jersey Shore, PA. She was also preceded in death by one son Mark T. Geesey and one grandson Carl W. Geesey, IV.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, January 22, 2011 at 11:00 am from the Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St. Parkesburg followed by inurnment at Hephzibah Baptist Cemetery. Visitation from 10 to 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her memory to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718 or Tel-Hai Care Assurance Fund, P.O. Box 190 Honey Brook, Pa. 19344.
