Walter R. Clark, Sr.

 Walter R. Clark, Sr., 68, of Cochranville, passed away on Friday, December 4, 2009 at the Neighborhood Hospice Center in West Chester. He was the husband of Anna E. Walton Clark with whom he shared 11 years of marriage. Born in Coatesville, he was the son of the late Raymond G. and Helen Sessler Clark.

Walt was an area resident all his life. He was employed by Lukens Steel of Coatesville as a truck driver retiring in 2002 with 43 years of service. He was an active member of Rough and Tumble Engineers Historical Association and he also was an avid hunter. He attended the Gap Community Church.

He is survived, in addition to his wife, by five children; Walter R. Clark and wife Wilma of Kirkwood, Sandra, wife of Larry Browning of Oxford, Michael Clark and wife Debbie of Paradise, Donald Clark and wife Amy of Atglen and Shawn Simmers and wife Jody of Intercourse, Step children; Christopher Simmers and wife Darlene of Baltimore, MD, Gary Simmers, Jr. and wife Denise of Honey Brook and Melissa Bowman of Cochranville, 14 grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a step daughter Pamela Morris and a grandson Christopher Clark.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 9, 2009 at 11:00am from the Highland Baptist Church, 1 E. Highland Road, Parkesburg followed by interment at the Atglen Presbyterian Cemetery. Family and friends are also invited to attend the viewing on Tuesday evening, Dec. 8 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at the Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St. Parkesburg and also at the church from 10:00am to the time of the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Neighborhood Hospice Center, 400 East Marshall St., West Chester, PA 19380.
