Edwina Wilgis Wedgewood

Edwina Wilgis Wedgewood, 69, passed away on 10/2/2012 after a short battle with Mesothelioma.  Born in Coatesville, PA, she was the daughter of the late Edwin M. and Mary Elizabeth (Trupe) Wilgis. 

She attended Downingtown High School  and lived in Chester County most of her life, but also resided in Kansas, Oklahoma, and Louisiana.  In her early years, she had worked as a bookkeeper for various local auto dealers such as Guyer Klein and D’Ambrosio. 

She found her passion in later years managing various restaurants such as Sbarro’s , KFC/Taco Bell and Burger King.  She thoroughly enjoyed her job and customers until her retirement in 2011.  She was a member of Thorndale Fire Co.

She is survived by her three children:  Karen Downing Brown (Randy)   of Narvon, PA;  Edwin Allen Hayes, Sr. of Ephrata, PA and Charles McCauley  Wedgewood (Cynthia) of Haughton, LA;  four grandchildren:  Nathaniel Freas (Lisa) of Taylor, PA; Danielle Hayes Kofroth (Roy) of Downinigtown, PA; Edwin Hayes, Jr. (Angela) of New Holland, PA, Cheyenne Wedgewood of Haughton, LA;  step grandsons Bubba Montoya and Tyler Riner (Dakota) of Haughton, LA, three great-grandsons;  Kaine, Jordan, and Eddie, step great grandchildren, Gracie, Charlie, and Tyler. 

She is also survived by her two sisters:  Linda Newlin of Euless, TX, and Deborah Albright Wealer of Coatesville, PA,   along with her Uncle, Allen Wilgis, several nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

A celebration of her life will be held on her 70th Birthday, Saturday, October 6, 2012 at 10 AM from the Parkesburg United Methodist Church, 414 Main Street, Parkesburg, PA.   Visitation will be from 9 am to 10am. Interment will be private.
