Walter C. Ferguson, 69, of Middletown, DE, died on Wednesday, July 22, 2009 at the Christiana Hospital in Newark, DE. He was the beloved husband of the late Helen Marie Fagan Ferguson who passed away in 2005 and whom he longed to be with again.

Born in Ogden, PA, he was the son of the late Joseph and Rhoda Hardin Ferguson. Formerly a resident of Chester County, Pa. Walter was employed, for 35 years, by the Sartomer Co. of West Chester, Pa. as a Maintenance mechanic and Safety Specialist, and was also a part of the Fire and Safety Team.

He was a member of the New Covenant Church of Middletown, DE where he enjoyed volunteering with the Logos Program. He was also a former member of the Ogden and Boothwyn Fire Companies.

He is survived by five daughters, Agnes T., wife of Joseph Smith of Ivins, Utah, Kathleen W. Cignatta, of Phoenixville, PA, Rose M., wife of David Smith, of Newark, DE, Anna M., wife of John Durbano, of Middletwon, DE, and June C., wife of Samuel Teitelbaum, of Phoenixville, Pa.; 12 grandchildren, and six great grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by one daughter Peggy Roos, son-in-laws Tony Roos and Roger Cignatta, two sisters and four brothers.

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 31, 2009 from 11:30am to 12:30pm at the Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St. Parkesburg, Pa. followed by interment at the Hephzibah Baptist Cemetery, E. Fallowfield, PA.

Family and friends are also invited to attend a memorial service on Saturday August 1, 2009 at 11:00am from the New Covenant Church, 1125 Jamison Corner Rd., P.O. Box 52, Middletown, DE 19709.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Walt's memory to the New Covenant Church at the above address.

To June and her sisters and their families. I am so sorry about the passing of your father. I will always remember our talks at the campground. He so much reminded me of my own father. I hope that your memories and your love for each other will help you through this difficult time. Just know both your parents will always be with you, just in a different way.
