Theresa Lynne Verdegem, 63, of Kinzers passed away Tuesday, October 5, 2023 at her home. Terri was born in Lancaster Pennsylvania, beloved daughter of Lena Phipps-Verdegem of Christiana, PA and the late Vincent L. Verdegem Sr. She was a member of Our Lady of Consolation Church in Parkesburg, PA.
Theresa attended Octorara School District and graduated with a General Educational Diploma.
She Graduated from Rhema Bible Training College (’79) in Broken Arrow, OK.
She had a beautiful singing voice and loved music. She studied the Spanish language in her younger years and traveled on missions to Belize, Honduras and Guatemala.
Surviving is one daughter Shalene Smucker-Boyer and three grandchildren; Antonio Smucker & Karmann and Theadora Boyer, Manheim; her mother and two brothers, Vincent L. Verdegem Jr.(Sue) and William A. Verdegem (Jeanne). Preceded in death by her father and a stillborn brother.
Theresa was the fiancée of David Marsh of Kinzers, PA.
Theresa enjoyed spending time with her three grandchildren. She’d nicknamed the girls Apple & Olive, and grandson Tony is sure to go to the NBA she’d say. She also loved her two fur babies; which in truth a huge Boxer & Bulldog; Tucker & Cassi. She spent much of her time growing tomatoes & basil, watching cooking shows, catching up with loved ones via phone and chatting over coffee.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, October 20, 2023 at 10:30 AM at Our Lady of Consolation Church, 603 West Second Ave., Parkesburg, PA with visitation at the church from 9:30 AM to the time of the service.
