Patsy J. Proffit, 83, of Gap, PA, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her family, on Tuesday, July 4, 2023. She was the wife of the late William H. Proffit. Born in Rossville, GA, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Hattie Ann Forrester Johnson.
Patsy was a devoted housewife and mother. She lived in the area for over the past 60 years, prior to that she lived in Virginia. She was a member of the Gap Community Church. She loved music and could practically play any instrument. She loved gardening and watching cooking shows. If you knew her, you would love her!
She is survived by her children, Donald R. (Robbin) Proffit of Outer Banks, NC, and Melanie J. Proffit of Gap, a sister, Judy (Ron) Dickinson of Coatesville, PA., and a special grand-dog, Chance. She was preceded in death by siblings, Barbara J. Pechin, twin sister, Peggy J. Webb, and Jimmy Johnson.
She also loved all of her nieces and nephews. They were all so special to her.
She had three nephews that are already in Heaven, Jeff & Randy Sheeler and Greg Johnson so they are with her now.
Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family.

We were sorry to learn today of Patsy's passing on July 4th. Though we did not know her very well, she always welcomed us with a big smile at the front door! May she now enjoy the "independence" and peace of heaven.
