Vera C. Rubert, 95, formerly of Coatesville, passed away on Tuesday, September 22nd, 2020 under the care of Hickory House Nursing Home of Honey Brook.  She was the widow of the late David Rubert, who passed away in 1999 after they had shared 55 years of marriage.  

Born in Emmorton, Maryland, Vera was the daughter of the late Della (Nichols) and Burris Cheek.  Vera was a 1941 graduate of Bel Air High School in Maryland.  

Vera was a past worthy matron of Cressona Chapter #367 Order of the Eastern Star.  She was a member of the Olivet United Methodist Church of Coatesville.

Vera is survived by her four children: Ruth Ann Curley of Rehobeth Beach, DE, Karen Smith of Coatesville, Dan Rubert, husband of Judy, of Charlestown, MD, and Deborah Failor, wife of Dave, of Downingtown; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren. 

She was predeceased, in addition to her husband, by her sisters Lillian Taylor, Mae Carr, Ferrell Markward, Wilma Martin, and Naomi Reisinger; and brothers, Reid, John, and Lee Cheek; and granddaughter, Denise Rubert.

Per the family's request, the funeral service will be private.

My deepest condolences. I new Vera from Olivet church. I worked with her husband Dave at Lukens back in the mid 50's She helped me prepare mailings at Olivet. She will be missed.

Deb I was so sorry to hear of your moms passing. I have thought of her often wondering how she was. I always enjoyed our time together. She was a delightful lady. I couldn't remember your last name to contact you before this. May you and family find peace in God's love.

I was so sorry to hear of Vera's passing. I enjoyed talking to her when I would visit my Dad at Harrison house.

Vera was a wonderful person.  She helped me at Olivet Church when I was the secretary there years ago.  She was pleasant and always there to volunteer her services. May God grant her family peace at this time.
