60 Years
Downingtown, Pennsylvania

Robert David Tigue, 60, of Downingtown, died on June 11th, 2017 from injuries sustained in a tragic motorcycle accident.

Born in Philadelphia on February 14, 1957, he was the son of Joseph A. Tigue of West Chester and the late Anne Kistner Tigue.

He was a 1975 graduate of Henderson High School and worked for Brandywine Valley Concrete Construction in Downingtown.

Bob was a wild spirit with a soft heart for those in need. He was fiercely committed to his family and willing to help absolutely everyone. Bob had a brilliant mind for visualizing and building almost anything, a trait he happily put to use often to benefit his friends and family.

He is loved by his children: Lauren Meredith, wife of Stephen, of Baltimore, John Tigue, husband of Danielle, of San Antonio, Rebecca G.T. McAllister, wife of Daniel, of West Chester, Lee Snyder, husband of Marcie, and Megan Tigue, of Annapolis, MD.  He was known as "Grand Bob" to his nine young grandchildren.  He will be missed by his father, brothers, sisters, children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, friends and countless others.

The family invites all of Bob's friends to a memorial service and picnic to celebrate his life and remember his loving spirit. The memorial will be held at Brandywine Picnic Park on Saturday June 17 from 6:30-9:00pm.

The graveside service will be private and at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers -- and in the spirit of Bob's compassion for those in need -- donations can be made to Friends' Association, 113 W Chestnut St, West Chester, PA 19380, or Safe Harbor of Chester County, 20 N Matlack St, West Chester, PA 19380.

Condolences

Becky & Dan,

My heart breaks for you and your suffering at this time. Although I never met your dad, and knowing your character- I'm sure he was an amazing man. I hope you continue to be a living legacy of his spirit and nature. Life has so many hard things we must go through, and this is certainly on of them. Our hearts are with you. Love you guys!

Bob and Terry were long-time neighbors and friends.  We watched them move in and transform their house and property into a lovely and inviting home.  Bob and his Dad did much of the hard work on the house,.  Bob was a kind and gentle soul who lost his life far too soon.  I miss the many times Bob and I would talk in the lane.  Bob was quick to offer help when needed, like mowing our grass when I was recovering from surgery.  Terry, we miss you and mourn with you.  May the Lord Bless you and keep you.

Dear Terri and Family

So very sorry for your loss, we will always have special and fond memories of Bob being neighbors for what? 20+ years...we watched the children grow and enjoyed living next to all of you and sharing so much.  Bob was always there if we needed him and we remember alot of laughs and good times with entire family.  Bob is at peace now and is with his mother and we have the assurance that we will one day see him again.  All of you are in our thoughts and prayers for God's comfort which is a blessed thing.  Praise Him!

Love to all, Richard & Kim

Bobbie was a true gentleman. Anytime we ran into each other we would talk and reminisce about old times etc. It could be years but time didn't make our friendship drift. May you all find comfort in this difficult time.

My deepest condolences.  I moved to PA one year ago and had the opportunity to meet Bob.  In the few times that i spoke with him, he struck me as a good person and a Gentle Giant.  It saddens me deeply on his tragic accident.  Prayers and thoughts will be with you.

While I didn't know Bobby long, I got to know him well over a short period of time. Based on similar pasts, and similar philosophies, opinions, observations, and beliefs, we became fast friends. And while I also know that there really are NO words at a time like this, I would like to express to Bob's friends and loved ones just what an incredible loss this is for anyone who ever had the privelege to meet and spend some time with Bobby. He was one of the kindest and most genuine people I've ever known. I will think about him often and will miss him a great deal.  With sorrow for everyone's loss.

To Bobby's family and friends,

My thoughts and prayers go out to you during this extremely difficult time.

I only knew Bobby a short time through the gang at Ron's and still cannot believe he's gone. It's just so sad.

It's hard to find words that can give comfort during a time like this but please know Bobby was surrounded by so many that cared and loved him.  I could see that just the short time I was around him.

My deepest sympathy,

Renita

Bob will be greatly missed by everyone that knew him! I began working concrete in 1989 for my families concrete company and there he was, the gentle giant. I spent years working alongside him, hearing his nonstop preaching and love for god, watching him change roles in the company from foreman, to " logistics coordinator ", and finally working alongside my uncles and cousins bidding on jobs. He always asked me if my heart was right with the lord and I believe that was probably the last thing he said to me. I sure know his was!. He had a lot of ups and downs in the end but never lost sight of who he was, a kind hearted person. For us this was a horrible tragedy but to Bob  it was just the beginning of his new life. God calls us home on his time not ours. JOHN 11:26 - And whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Rest In Peace Bob! Thank you for all the good talks and memories!

Our deepest condolences to the entire Tigue family near and far. Even though it has been quite a few years since seeing Bob, he was the type person that you always remembered the interaction and caught up in no time. Always enjoyed his deep thoughts... we are sorry for this tragic news, disbelief, but in some way you know Bob is looking down on so many... It is the reassurance of Bob's faith in the Lord that will sustain those who mourn. RIP Bob Tigue.

Bobby you left us way to early. You were like a big brother to me. You could walk into any room and make friends. I regret I never took the trips with you to meet your kids and grandkids. I always enjoyed the smile on your face when you showed me pictures of them when you got back. Rest in brother we will miss you.

I met Bobby at a church service in Downingtown.

I had met him through a friend.  I was very impressed

with a feeling that Bobby was a very kind, good-hearted,

and honest person.  I liked him alot, even though I didn't

really know him.  I feel very bad for the family and friends

that they lost a good person so soon.  I hope that everyone

finds healing in the future after this tragic event.
