Stephen Allan Hass, 72, of Parkesburg, passed away on Thursday, July 31, 2014 at his home, surrounded by his family.  He was the beloved husband of Jean P. Hass with whom he shared 37 years of marriage.  

Born in Philadelphia, Stephen was the son of the late Selma (Levit) and Louis Hass.  

Stephen was a graduate of Central High School in Philadelphia, a 1967 graduate of Wesleyan University, a 1973 graduate of Drexel University, obtaining a Certification of Accounting, and a 1975 graduate of the University of Penn., obtaining a Certification of Accounting.  He was self-employed as an accountant.  

Stephen was a member of the CPA, CISA and was Past President of EDP Auditors Association, Philadelphia Chapter.  

A resident of Parkesburg for the past 40 years, he attended Parkesburg Baptist Church and later attended Maple Grove Mennonite Church. 

He is survived by his four children: Virginia Masters, wife of Paul, of Wyomissing, Pa., Maureen Baynard of Paradise, Rebecca Hass, partner of Michelle Burkholder, of Catonsville, Md., Katherine Goree, wife of Aaron, of Downingtown; seven grandchildren, Jonathan, Steven, Robbie (husband of Ashley), Ryan, Christopher, Hannah and Simon; great grandson Riley; and siblings, Bram and Gina Hass of Bethesda, Md. and Bob Hass of Sonoma, CA.  

The Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, August 7th at 11 AM at the Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St., Parkesburg with Pastor Stephen Crane officiating.  The visitation will be from 10 until 11 AM.  Interment will be held on Friday at 1 PM at the King David Memorial Gardens of Bensalem.      

In lieu of flowers, donations may be "The Jackson Laboratory", Development Office, PO Box 254, Bar Harbor, ME 04609.

Dearest Jean and family:  I am so sorry to hear of Steve's passing.  I remember Steve doing my taxes back in the day.  A very kind  man.  I am thinking of all of  you and will pray for you as you go through this bereavement.

Im so sorry to the wonderful family he left behind. Your neighbors are just next door if you ever need anything. As long as I can remember Mr.Hass was always working hard over there with Mrs. Hass. He is finally pain free and watching over his loved ones from above.

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I"ve lived in FLorida for 8 years so I just saw this posting. Jeannie, I remember when you were just going out with him. Hard to believe it's been over 37 years. May the Lord wrap you all in His arms so you feel His love and strength. Steve was a kind soul when I met him and when he did our taxes that one year.
