Robert (Bob) L. Botkin, Sr., 67, of East Fallowfield, passed away on Monday, May 14, 2012 at his home. He was the beloved husband of Jean (Shero) Botkin, with whom he shared 44 years of marriage.
Born in Coatesville, he was the son of the late John and Violet (Perry) Botkin. He served honorably in the US Army.
Bob was formerly employed by the Extra Mile Auto Service in Coatesville. He had a passion for classic cars and enjoyed restoring them. He loved going to car shows and his 57 Chevy won him many trophies. In addition to restoring cars, he loved being a pop-pop to his grandson Jayden.
He is survived, in addition to his wife, by his beloved children: son Rob L. Botkin Jr., husband of Maia, of Honey Brook and daughter Sandy Falkner, wife of Steven, of East Fallowfield and one grandson, Jayden Falkner. He was preceded in death by seven siblings.
The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, May 18th, 2012 at 11 AM at the Hephzibah Baptist Church, 2237 Strasburg Road, Coatesville, PA 19320, followed by interment in the adjoining cemetery. Family and friends are invited to the viewing, which will be held on Thursday evening from 6 to 8 PM at the Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St., Parkesburg and again on Friday morning from 10 until 11 AM at the Church.

So sorry for your loss, I remember as a little boy going to my great grand moms on Glen Rose road.Just a small house with a set of steps inside that narrow front door, that led to the second floor. I use to play on those steps when my dad Rudy and my mom Kathy would go to visit.
Time seems to slip away from all of us and we take so many things for granted one day to the next,
My great uncle Bob, always had a smile on his face that will stay with me just like the steps that are burned into my memories,

Bobby Botkin
I did not know Bobby very well, met him at Donnie and Mimi's wedding and again in the past year at Brandywine Hospital where his sister-in-law was having some tests and we chatted about meeting at the wedding, his knowing my brother etc., he was so delightful I was sorry I had not met him sooner. Enjoyed his company that day and had hoped I'd run into him again someday. I know he will be missed by his family very much and I wish I had gotten to know him better. Having gone to school with Donnie and his being married to one of my best friends and having visited his sister Eleanor in Paris, plus she had been down to my apartment in Wilmington years ago so I felt a connection to some of the Botkin clan. He was as delightful as both Donnie and Eleanor, my sincere condolences to all the family.
