Marian L. "Tiny" Cabott

Marian L. "Tiny" Cabott, 77, of Parkesburg, passed away on Wednesday, June 29th at her home, surrounded by her family.   She was the widow of the late Harry J. Cabott, who died in 2005.

 
Born in West Sadsbury Twp., she was the daughter of the late Henry S. Landis and E. Marian Stauffer Landis.  She graduated from Parkesburg High School in 1951.  Marian was the School Nurse at Octorara Area School District.  After retiring, she earned a Masters Degree in History at Penn State.  
 
Marian was an avid gardener, earning a Certificate of Horticulture from Longwood Gardens.    
 
Marian was an active member of the Penningtonville Presbyterian Church of Atglen.  She was involved in the "Bridge of Hope." 
 
She is survived by her sons, Jeffrey Worst, husband of Romi, of Tokyo, Japan, Brian L. Worst, husband of Saundra, of East Fallowfield, and David G. Worst, husband of Karen, of Parkesburg; seven grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and siblings, Patricia M. Smith of Tx., C. Richard Landis of Narvon, Donald H. Landis of Newport Beach, Ca., and Dale Landis of Lititz.   
 
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 5, 2011 at 11:00 am. at the Penningtonville United Presbyterian Church, Main St. & Ridge Ave., Atglen, Pa. with a visitation at the church from 10 am until the time of the service. Interment will follow at the Birmingham-Lafayette Cemetery, West Chester, Pa.

We are deeply saddened by the loss of Marian. She was such a lady and real support to our family. I will be having minor surgery on Tuesday and regrettably we will not be able to attend her service. Peary and I, and our three children, David, Jeff and Becky, send you our prayers and support at this difficult time. Our lives were so enriched by her presence here on earth. May you feel God's love and comfort as she finds her place with our Heavenly Father.

Marion and I served many years on the Christian Education Committee of the presbytery, and in workshops, and other vital work. She was always a joy and full of good advice.

My thanks to God for her witness. I am privileged to have been touched by her faith, willing service, and wisdom.
