Dorthea M. Davis, 88, of New Holland, formerly of East Fallowfield, passed away on Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at the Garden Spot Village. She was the widow of the late Miller S. Davis, who passed away in 1963.
Born on November 15, 1921 in Millington, Md., she was the daughter of the late Mildred E. Wheatman Stevens and Samuel Earl Stevens. She worked in the cafeterias of both the East Fallowfield School and the Brandywine Hospital for a total of 45 years. Dorthea was a resident of East Fallowfield for over 50 years.
Dorthea was an active member of the Hephzibah Baptist Church, serving in the Ladies Missionary Fellowship.
She is survived by four children: Millie D. Morris, wife of David, of Gap, Ronald Davis, husband of Paula, of East Fallowfield, Donald L. Davis, husband of Myrtle, of Pomeroy and Lynn Maule, wife of David, of Mechanicsburg; 11 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren; and one sister, Mildred Sellers of Unionville as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Virginia Newman.
The Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, August 3, 2010 at 11 a.m. at the Hephzibah Baptist Church, 2237 Strasburg Rd., East Fallowfield, Pa., followed by interment in the adjoining cemetery.
Family and friends are invited to attend the viewing, which will be held on both Monday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at the Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St., Parkesburg and again on Tuesday morning at the Hephzibah Church from 10 until the time of the service.
