Ruth and I would talk about Parkesburg and she would tell us stories. She brought down pictures of her husband and she told us stories of how they met. She was a wonderful, pleasant, and caring person. She will be very much missed in Westminster. Praying for comfort for the family.

A Poem for Ruth
Ruth and I had many visits that I enjoyed so much! She was a lovely lady who loved her family so much. She would often talk that her goal was to have a family and wear an apron-that apron represented achievement of the goal of a happy family with children and a loving husband. She told me of a picture of her in the yard wearing that apron and how happy she was - so here is a little poem I wrote for Ruth:
In the 1950s, a woman's dream
Was to be a homemaker, it would seem
And for Ruth, she had a desire
For a husband, children, and an apron attire
She found her love, a handsome man
Together, they had a marriage plan
She wore her apron with pride and grace
Her dream was coming true, at a steady pace
Her kitchen was her kingdom, her domain
Cooking, cleaning, and washing with no disdain
Her apron was her armor, her shield
It was her mark, her seal
With each child that she bore
Her heart and her love did pour
And as she rocked them to sleep
Her apron would be her keep
She wore it through laughter and tears
Through the joys and the fears
Through the highs and the lows
Her apron was her chosen clothes
As she grew older, her apron became
A symbol of her life, her fame
A testament to her love and devotion
To her family, her heart's emotion
And as she passed onto the next life
Her apron remained, as a reminder of her strife
Of a woman who found love, and so much more
In an apron that she proudly wore.
