Martha Jean Anderson

Martha Jean Anderson of Wayne, PA, died at the Bryn Mawr Hospital on Saturday evening, September 24, 2022 at the age of 102.

“Marty” was born in Sedalia, MO and she graduated from Beloit College in Wisconsin where she met her husband of 58 years, Rex H. Anderson who died in 2002.

Marty and Rex became Christians in 1973 through the ministry of James Boice at Tenth Presbyterian Church in Philadelphia. For 23 years they hosted a weekly Bible study in their home in Villanova which was led by Rex.

Marty loved the Lord, she loved the Word of God, and she loved the church. She always looked forward to sharing the good news of the Gospel with all those she came into contact with. She and Rex and their son Rex were members of Tenth Presbyterian for 30 years. Subsequently, she and her son were members of Christ the King Presbyterian Church in Conshohocken.

She was an active member of the DAR and her local Pi Phi sorority alumni group. Marty is survived by her son, Rex, Jr.

A Memorial Service will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, October 22, 2022 at Christ the King Presbyterian Church, 325 Fayette Street, Conshohocken, PA 19428. Memorial Contributions in Marty’s memory may be made to Westminster Theological Seminary, 2960 Church Road, Glenside, PA 19038.
