I'm so very sad to read this. Mrs Halterman was the sweetest neighbor ever and that was nearly my whole life. She always had a smile and a friendly word. She asked about my kids often. I hated to see them move. Elmer is a wonderful person and neighbor, always a smile and a wave. I miss their presence across the street.

Dear Elmer and Family,

So sad and sorry to hear of Dot's passing.  I will always cherish the talks and laughs we shared, when you and Dot lived in Parkesburg.  Dot was so special and loved by many people.  She always had a smile and loved to walk her dog.  May many Memories bring you Peace and Comfort during this difficult time.  And may the Love that She had for you remain in your hearts  now and forever.    You are in our  Thoughts and Prayers.

Since Dot was my Grandmother's neighbor across the street, I knew her all my life - that was back when her next-door neighbor attached to her was the elderly Mrs. Elva Bare.  From Grades 4-10 I would see her daily walking home from my school bus stop in Parkesburg, just as she was driving home from her job at American Hardware in her pristine 1963 Chevy II Nova hardtop.  More recently, as her neighbor Shirley Willingham's health was declining, I would call Dot from time to time to check up on Shirley.  For quite a while, every evening Dot would prepare extra food for their evening meal and take a plate over for Shirley.  Rest in peace, Dot - you were the best.

I am sorry to hear about your mom.  There were many times your parents would walk their schnauzer and stop and talk to us when we were on the porch.  She was a wonderful lady and will be missed.  You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.  God bless.

My condolences to the family! I have many memories of Dot from when I was a little girl and lived next door to her. She was always so kind and friendly. When i would see her as I got older, she would always remind me of how much she enjoyed my family living next to them, even though we had moved years before! Thank you for the wonderful childhood memories Dot (and Elmer)
