Donald Joseph "Pop" Missimer
Donald Joseph "Pop" Missimer, 77, of Coatesville, died on Monday, January 30, 2017 at the Coatesville, VAMC Hospice Unit. He was the beloved husband of Charlotte Ann Steczak Missimer with whom he shared 53 years of marriage. Born in Coatesville, he was the son of the late Joel Missimer and Hester Kropp Missimer Davis.
Don was an area resident all his life and a 1957 graduate of the Coatesville High School. He proudly served in the US Army. Don was employed by the Lukens Steel Co. retiring in 2002 with 38 years of service.
He was a member of the Olivet United Methodist Church in Coatesville, the Coatesville Moose Lodge, Coatesville VFW, West End Fire Company, Thorndale Fire Company and the American Legion.
He is survived in addition to his wife, by Son, Christopher Missimer and Fiance’ Corrine Clark of Bruceton Mills, WV.
Granddaughter, Mikhaila and Grandson Peyton Missimer of Oakland, MD.
Daughters of Corrine, Jocelynn Clark of Morgantown, WV and Jenna Clark of Kingwood, WV. LOVE and BLESSINGS to Corrine for her beautiful kind words, comfort and prayers. Son, Douglas Missimer and wife Sharon Colon-Missimer of Strasburg, PA. Granddaughter, Angel Missimer Norton and Chris Norton of Coatesville, PA. Granddaughter, Crystal Missimer and Fiance’ Sidney Bernstein of Oxford, PA. Daughter, Dawn Missimer Matuson and Aaron Powell of Ephrata, PA. Granddaughter, Brittany Matuson and Brandon McFadden of Ephrata, PA.
Granddaughter, Brooklyn Powell and Grandson Jackson Powell of Ephrata, PA.
Sons of Aaron, Kirt Powell of Hershey, PA. and Kyle Powell of Ephrata, PA who went to LORD September 2014.
Mom would like to express her LOVE to her sister, Elaine Steczak Babel for her LOVE and support.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
Charlotte would like to extend her LOVE to the Staff members and Care Givers at the VA Grace Hospice Care Center for their comfort, LOVE and support they provided to her and her husband.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his memory to the Coatesville VAMC Hospice & Palliative Care Program, 1400 Black Horse Hill Rd., Coatesville, PA 19320.
