Thomas Richard (Tom) Robinson Sr., 90, of Eagleville, PA, passed away at his home on Tuesday, November 29, 2022, two days short of his 91st birthday. He was the husband of Lois Carol (Stoner) Robinson for nearly 70 years. Born December 1, 1931, in Massillon, OH, he was the son of the late Clair and Margaret (Kerwin) Robinson.
Tom enlisted in the US Marine Corps and proudly served his country with the Marine’s First Division, during the Korean War at the Chosin Reservoir, and other postings.
After an honorable discharge in 1952 at the rank of Sergeant, Tom started his career as an airplane mechanic and transitioned to a nearly 50-year career in sales of automotive test equipment and tools.
A child of the Depression, Tom never forgot the hardships of that time. He knew the necessity of hard work and demonstrated throughout his life the example of working hard, doing one’s best, and being kind and fair to all. In midlife, he enjoyed skiing, and windsurfing; in retirement he and his wife enjoyed several trips traveling across the US in their travel trailer, and volunteering with ALS and Habitat for Humanity. Tom (Gramps) also enjoyed sharing his love of woodworking with his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, Tom is survived by his three children, Susan Robinson Hartranft (Tom) of Clearwater FL, Lisa Robinson Packer (Michael) of Wayne PA, and Thomas Richard Robinson Jr. (Lisa) of Chantilly VA, grandchildren Toby Hartranft, Emily Hartranft, Thomas Richard Robinson, III, Kelsey Robinson, Kendall Robinson, Jay Packer and Megs Packer, and three great-grandchildren, Sawyer Hartranft, AJ Hartranft, and Thomas Richard Robinson, IV.
A memorial service is scheduled for February 11, 2023, at the Wilde Funeral Home in Parkesburg, PA. ROBBY WAS NOT ONLY MY BROTHER
ROBBY WAS NOT ONLY MY BROTHER-IN-LAW BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY HE WAS MORE " BROTHER " . I'VE KNOW HIM SINCE HE WAS IN THE MARINES UP TO PRESENT TIMES. HE WAS A TRUE LEADER AND A GOOD MAN. I'LL NEVER FORGET HIM, SEMPER FI BROTHER. R.I.P.
Uncle Rob
My Uncle Rob was a kind, quiet man. He was always quick in wit and had a great chuckle. I didn’t get to spend as much time in adulthood with him as I did as a child, but he’ll be missed! Love you Uncle Rob!
Thomas Richard Robinson
Robbie was my ‘brother-in-love’. Coming into my life when I was about two years old, I was told I called him my ‘Honey Boy’. He was the calm in the storms, the strength in the weaknesses, the brother who quietly loved. I will miss him terribly, but God has opened the way to see him again in eternity, and for that I say, Thank You, LORD!
