Thomas Edmond Wertz, Sr., 83, of Gap, PA, passed away on Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at the Lancaster General Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Alice Jean Kreider Wertz with whom he shared almost 65 years of marriage. Born in Coatesville, he was the son of the late Benjamin Wertz and Helen Huss Wertz.
Tom was an area resident all his life. He was employed as a tow motor operator for the Budd Manufacturing Company in Eagle, PA.
In his younger years, he enjoyed trapping. Tom also enjoyed fishing and hunting.
He is survived, in addition to his wife, by five children; Karen Stoltzfus and husband D. David of Ephrata, PA, Thomas and wife Cindy of Narvon, PA, Teresa Wertz of Paradise, PA, Sharon Wertz of Gap, PA, and Gail Yonce of Manheim, nine grandchildren and many great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one daughter Sandra Bulick and five siblings; Myrtle Klock, Jean Spackman, Mildred Boyd, Warren Wertz and Benjamin Wertz.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, February 8, 2022 from the Wilde Funeral Home. A viewing will take place from 10 AM until the start of the service. Interment will directly follow at Glen Run Cemetery in Atglen, PA.
