Taylor Ann (Bent) Carroll, 44, of Parkesburg, PA, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 31, 2017 at the Neighborhood Hospice Center in West Chester, PA, surrounded by her loving family, after a courageous battle with Multiple Myeloma. Taylor was the beloved wife of Paul T. Carroll, with whom she shared 17 years of marriage.

Born in Somers Point, NJ, she was the daughter of Stephan A. and Barbara Ann Perkins Bent, and the late Dolores Scheer Bent of Egg Harbor Twp., NJ. She is survived, in addition to her husband and parents, by her two daughters; Ryan Elisabeth Carroll and Devon Mae Carroll, both at home, and one sister, Judith Mangano (Thomas) of Mays Landing, NJ. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

A 1992 graduate of Egg Harbor Township High School, Taylor obtained her Bachelors in Education from Millersville University in 1996. She taught in New Jersey and Pennsylvania for several years prior to staying home to raise her two daughters. She was employed for the last eight years by the Octorara Area School District as a substitute and 6th grade school teacher.

Taylor loved spending time with her family, cooking, baking, gathering friends and running with her running group, Chug for the Mug. She was involved in the community with the Octorara Softball Association as a coach, the Octorara Field Hockey Boosters and a local adult softball team, The Rusty Buckets. She enjoyed spending summers with her children and vacationing in the Outer Banks with family and friends.

To the Carroll family I'm really sorry for your loss. Mrs. Carroll was one of the greatest substitute teachers I had she always had a smile on her face no matter what happened and no matter how many times someone made her mad she kept a smile. R I.P Mrs.Carroll

I am very sad to hear this news. I had the pleasure of knowing Taylor through Rusty Buckets softball, playing together for many years. I looked forward to seeing her every summer, always an encouraging teammate to all. God Bless her family during this difficult time.

Paul, Ryan and Devon...no words can express our sadness over Taylor's passing. She put up an extremely brave fight. I had Taylor as a student in eighth grade and loved her then. She had a wonderful character and work ethic; she was a lovely girl. I had the extreme pleasure of reuniting with her a few months ago for a day....and she was the same warm, loving person I remembered. What a beautiful lady. Our prayers will be with you all....she will be sorely missed.

Love,

"Mrs. D"  Ginnie (and Pete) Dubas

Dear Paul & Daughters - My deepest condolences on your loss.  Were thinking of you all and wondering how she was when we drove past your house on Christmas Day on our way to my Brother's home.  I will never forget the container of homemade cookies she made us when our wife/Mother passed away in 2009.  That was such a kind gesture.  As I now have 8-plus years of Widower-hood experience, if you need an ear to bend or just to vent - I am here for you.  The good news is - you will survive this.  The bad news is - you will survive this.  I will give you the best advice I recieved - make no major decisions or lifestyle changes for at least one year, and take things one day at a time - and ONLY one day at a time until further notice.
