Ronnie Ray Evans, 81, of East Fallowfield, passed away on Wednesday, December 6, 2023 at the Newport Meadows Nursing Home in Christiana, PA. He was the beloved husband of Barbara Ann Monko "Cookie" Evans with whom he shared 57 years of marriage. Born in Leckie, West Virginia, he was the son of the late Dempsey Evans and Evelyn Yates Evans Assetto.
Ronnie was born and raised in Leckie, West Virginia as well as Baltimore, MD. He moved into the area as a teenager. He was a 1961 graduate of the former Scott High School in Coatesville, PA. After graduation he enlisted in the US Army and proudly served with the 101st Airborne Division.
Ronnie was employed by the City of Coatesville Water Authority where he retired.
He is survived, in addition to his wife, by two daughters; Christina Evans-Makris of Chester Springs, PA and Monica Colello and husband Martin of Chandler, AZ, and three grandsons; Tyler Colello, Dillon Makris and Chase Makris. He loved spending time with his family and grandsons who were "his boys" as he would always say. He was preceded in death by one son Wayne Vincent Evans and two brothers; Rev. Jerry Evans and Maxie Evans.
Ronnie was a life time member of the West End Fire House, Polish American Citizens Club and the Moose Lodge.
He enjoyed spending time at their home in the mountains.
Ronnie had a unique sense of humor and a reputation for generosity. He was affectionately called "Chico" by his friends and lit up a room with his infectious smile.
He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Memorial services will be held on Monday, December 18, 2023 at 11:00 AM at the Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St. Parkesburg, PA followed by urn burial at the Hephzibah Baptist Cemetery, East Fallowfield, PA. Family and friends are also invited to attend visitation at the funeral home from 10:00 AM to the time of the service.

I was the flower girl at
I was the flower girl at their wedding and I remember how handsome he was on that day. As an adult, I remember Ronnie a this happy, charming, and gracious soul who always made me feel welcome in his and Cookie's home.
