Patricia A. Wanner
Patricia A. Wanner, 69, of Coatesville, passed away on Wednesday, April 21, 2021, at her home, in the care of her family. She was the widow of the late Thomas J. Wanner, with whom she shared 36 years of marriage until his death in 2018.
Born in Coatesville, she was the daughter of the late Helen (Trego) and Ike Mattson.
Ms. Patty was "Mom" to many. Her home was always open and welcoming to anybody, but especially to someone who needed a hand. Her ability to stay true to herself and speak her mind was only matched by her genuine love and commitment to her family, friends, and anyone she thought was an underdog. Patty loved Jesus and took his presence wherever she went. To the neighborhood kids, she was known as the "Iceberg Lady" for the 36 flavors of ice pops she'd sell for 25 cents.
She was a fantastic cook, specializing in fried chicken, gravies of all kinds, chicken dumplings, and funnel cakes. She enjoyed Gospel Music, the Gameshow Network, Oldies, and Classic Country. Patty especially loved the holidays. She enjoyed decorating her home and lawn for the holidays, but she especially loved spending time with her family. She'll be remembered for her mother's heart and generosity. All who knew her, but especially her family, loved her deeply and will miss her.
Patty is survived by her children: Amber Perez wife of Jesus, Clarence "Bill" Mattson, husband of Melinda, Karen Mattson, Gerald Keehn, Ashley Salazar, Nancy Reynolds, and Thomas Wanner Jr. husband of Rebecca; grandchildren, Alejandro, Yasmin, Cristian, Bella, Karra, Kaylia, Ben, Julia, Joe, Nathaly, Zlatan, Jeffrey, Thomas Wanner III, and Timothy; and siblings, Tina Mattson, Ernie Mattson, Nancy Reynolds, and Larry Mattson.
In addition to her husband, Patty was predeceased by her son, Jeffrey Fox, and sister, Priscilla.
The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, April 29th, 2021 at 10 AM at Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St., Parkesburg, with a viewing from 9 AM until 10 AM. Burial will follow at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery in Annville.
In order to protect those at-risk, please wear a face mask and practice social distancing while at the funeral home.
