Neil Hallowell, 62, of Gap, PA, passed away at his home on Sunday, January 8, 2023.  He was the husband of Renee Weiss Hallowell for over 34 years.  Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late James Hallowell and Lois McKinley Finnagin.

Neil worked at High Energy in Parkesburg and was a former trustee of the Christiana American Legion. He was the grill master who was a friend to everyone he met. Fishing, hunting, and camping were some of his favorite hobbies. He and his wife were very active in cancer fundraising. He will forever be remembered for his quick wit and sense of humor. You would never find him without a Milwaukee's Best in his hand and a cigarette in his mouth, ready to tell a good story. He truly was one of a kind and will be greatly missed by all that knew him.

He is survived by his children, Kristi (Michael) Hersh of Quarryville, Neil (Kristin) Hallowell Jr. of Maryland, and Tara Hallowell (Steve Mullen) of Coatesville, 8 grandchildren, Jasmine, Kaydin, Brody, Mason, Jackson, Eliana, Kendall, Joelle, a sister, Elaine Singleton of Tampa Bay, FL, and a brother, James Hallowell of Springfield, MO.

A Celebration of Life memorial service is planned for the Christiana American Legion Post 865 in Christiana, PA on Saturday, January 21st, from 4pm to 8pm with Military Honors beginning at 5:30pm.  Due to the outstanding care and compassion giving by hospice memorial donations can be made to Hospice and Community Care of Lancaster, PA.
