My deepest condolences to the entire Smith family. Mrs. Smith first entered my life in the fall of 1975, and throughout my years in the Octorara schools she was an everlasting, encouraging, and guiding force. She helped make many of us the people we are today. I would run in to her on occasion & she always knew who I was & gave me that wonderful smile of hers & a big hug. Prayers of comfort to you all. May her memory live on among all of those whose lives she has touched!

I will miss your Mother’s smile, it was always sincere and you knew it. And if my Mom wasn’t with me her first question was always how’s your Mother? She was a lovely lady she will be missed.

I have lives in Parkesburg all.my life and as a child was a student at Parkesburg Elementary. She knew every student in that little school by name. Even if I ran into her as a adult she knew who I was. Every child that attended that school was touched by her beautiful smile and her and her kindness. We we're all blessed to know such a special soul. She was truly loved by everyone who knew her and she will be missed.

A dear friend. A person that allowed her light to shine. Mildred's love of people made everyone better just being around her. That smile, that laugh, that wink will not be forgotten. She is indeed a blessing from God. I'm certain the Lord welcomed her with open arms saying "well done good and faithful servant."

I was fortunate to have known Mrs. Smith since I was a child growing up with the Swyderskis as our next door neighbors. I have never known anyone with a bigger heart. We had to sell my childhood home years ago. I ran into Mrs. Smith one day. She told me that she had driven by that home and thought my father would have been happy to know there were children playing in the yard. That spoke volumes as to the sort of person she was..kind-hearted and knowing exactly what to say to make someone feel good. She was one of a kind and will be missed.

Mrs. Smith was a mother to all of us as little children attending Parkesburg Elementary School. She was the most kind and caring person. She and Sam could be seen faithfully sitting in the bleachers at OHS, cheering on their sons at wrestling tournaments and supporting us cheerleaders and at Mass every Sunday morning. Please accept my deepest condolences for your loss.

Friendship began while we were in First Grade and continued throughout our lives.
Mildred would visit when Bib and I were in town. God Bless a grand lady who will be
missed by all who knew her. I'm sure Bib will greet her in Heaven.

Leslie and family,  I am deeply sorry for the loss of your mother.  I'm sorry I wasn't afforded more opportunities to be around her.  She was such a warm, sweet woman.  When my son became part of your family through marriage, I will never forget Keith telling me what she said: "I have another grandson!"  That spoke volumes to me of what type of woman she was.  That warmed my heart so much.  "Thank you Mildred for unconditionally loving Keith like he was your own, and he loved you back.  You were a true blessing to him!!"  I'm honored to have known your mother, even though it was briefly.  This earth lost a special woman, and Heaven gained a special angel.  Lord's blessings to the family and all her friends.
