Mildred S. McKinney, 81, of Atglen, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2012 at Harrison Senior Living in Christiana, PA. She was the wife of Ernest McKinney with whom she shared 58 years of marriage. Born in Nine Points, she was the daughter of the late Edgar and Ethel Harrison Thompson.
Mildred graduated from Scott H.S. in 1950 and was employed by Pepperidge Farms. She was a member of the Mt. Zion AME Church of Atglen. She enjoyed crocheting Afghans.
She is survived, in addition to her husband, by four children; James McKinney of Lancaster, Denise E. Carter of Baltimore, MD, Steve McKinney of Coatesville and stepson Clarence McKinney of York, three grandchildren Camille, Tina and Austin Carter and three brothers and two sisters. She was preceded in death by 10 siblings.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday Sept. 25th, at 11am from the Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St. Parkesburg followed by interment at Mt. Zion Cemetery, Atglen. Viewing at the funeral home from 9 to 11am.

I'm so sorry family my prays and love to all of you. Aunt mill as u know was very special to me and I will miss her. The one thing that comforts me is to know I will see her again my heart aches but I look to the lord above and he can ease all sorrow and we have all the wonderful memories of her
