Matilda M. Harrington, 87, of Honey Brook, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 24, 2021, surrounded by her family at her home at Heatherwood Retirement Community. She was the wife of the late Mickey L. Harrington, Sr. who died in 2017. They shared 66 years of marriage. Born in Coatesville, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Sara Killinger Miller.

Matilda was an area resident all her life and a 1951 graduate of the former Scott High School in Coatesville. She served as a PTA President at the Rainbow School and she was an active member of St. John's Episcopal Church. 

She is survived by five children, Janet Marie (Thomas) Ring of Harrisburg, Frances Ann Maxwell of Coatesville, Mickey L. Harrington Jr. of Bowmansville, PA, David C. (Kathy) Harrington of Grimesland, NC, and Kathy C. (Jay) Trofe of Bowmansville, PA., nine grandchildren; Heide Kramer, Abbey Williams, Mickey Harrington III, Maia Harrington, Britt Trofe, James Trofe, Jacy Ring, George Rissell, Daniel Harrington, four great-grandchildren; Michael Williams, Christopher Hopper, Kathleen Hopper, Giulianna DeMarco, five great, great-grandchildren; Michael Williams-Hopper, Evelyn Connors, Hunter Williams, Adeline Miller, Elaina Mae Williams, and three siblings; Emily B. Miller of Christiana, PA, Dorothie (Shirk) LeBoon of Coatesville and Henry C. Miller of Coatesville. She was preceded in death by one sister Murilla Miller and one grandson Louis Brady Pieri.   

Friends and Relatives are invited to attend graveside services on Wednesday, July 28, 2021, at 12:15 PM at St John’s Episcopal Church Cemetery, 1520 W Kings Hwy, Gap, PA 17527.  Those attending a private family service in the church are asked to wear masks and practice social distance.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to the Heatherwood Retirement Community Benevolence Fund, 3180 Horseshoe Pike, Honey Brook, PA 19344 or to Compassus Hospice at https://www.compassus.com/

To all the Harrington family and Matilds's  siblings , I am so sorry to hear of Matilda's passing ! I have known her for a very long time ! First met her at school working with the kids and PTA ! Matilda and Mickey were very important part of our family, when they passed part of our heart went to heaven with them. 

The gift of their friendship and the way they made us part of their family will always be a fond memory. Our prayers are with all of the family, this is a time of celebration for Matilda, she went home to be with Mickey and all her family in heaven.

I am so greatful to God for allowing me to meet this exceptional lady.  I was so blessed to work with her on the famimly reunion many years ago.  She told me so many stories that I will never forget.  God bless your family and comfort you at this time.
