Mary E. "Pete" Hoover, 76, of Atglen, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at the Brandywine Hospital. She was the widow of the late Ralph A. Hoover who died in 1997. Born in Coatesville, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Hazel Wallace Tillman.
Mary was an area resident all her life. She enjoyed serving in the kitchen several times a week at City Gate Mission in Coatesville for over 10 years. She attended Hephzibah Baptist Church until her health began to fail.
She will be fondly remembered for helping others in need and her passion for reading the Bible everyday.
She is survived by one daughter Mary E. Davis and husband Jim of Atglen, one granddaughter Anisha Davis and fiance Dennis Norton of Holtwood, PA, one great granddaughter Chelsea Davis of Atglen and six siblings; William O. Tillman, Lenora Watson, Edna Oatman, Hazel Burkman, Virginia Walton and Kay Myers. She was preceded in death tragically in a house fire back in 1968 by seven children; Ralph Alexander. Jr., Barbara Sue, Robert Edward, David Bruce, Brenda Lee, Shirley Ann and Daniel W Hoover, an infant. She was also preceded in death by one granddaughter Chelsea Davis and two siblings; Walter Tillman, Jr. and Grace Stoltzfus.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, April 13, 2018 at 1:00 PM at the Hephzibah Baptist Cemetery, 2237 Strasburg Road, East Fallowfield, PA.

Mary, Jim and family. I just heard about this. Pete and Ralph were my friends for years when they lived on Maple Street. I loved them both.My Aunt Laura Johnson lives far away since I'm in Florida so I don't hear from her.Mary you and the kids were always special to me. I ask Him to surround you with His love and peace.
