Martha M. Geedey

Martha M. Geedey, 75, of Cochranville, passed away on Friday, December 3, 2010 at the Chester County Hospital. She was the wife of Ronald E. Geedey with whom she shared 55 years of marriage. Born in Coatesville, she was the daughter of the late John Wilson Moore, Sr. and Deborah Davis Moore.


Martha was an area resident all her life and 1953 graduate of the Parkesburg High School. She was an avid reader, enjoyed gardening and had an antique business at various locations for several years. She enjoyed time spent with friends in her bridge clubs. Most of all, she was a devoted Wife, Mother, Grand and Great Grandmother and homemaker who was much loved and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.


She is survived, in addition to her husband, by four children; Marcia G., wife of Chip Smallwood of Cochranville, Lisa G. Knox of West Chester, Ronald G. Geedey, Jr. and wife Ann of Gap, and Mary G., wife of John Swarts of West Chester, 10 grandchildren, one great granddaughter, sister Deborah M., wife of Ralph Bond of Leechburg, PA, sister-in-law Madeline S. Moore of Parkesburg and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one grandson Jonathan N. Knox and one brother J. Wilson Moore, Jr.


Memorial services will be held on Saturday, December 11, 2010 at 2:00 pm from the Penningtonville Presbyterian Church, 406 Main St. Atglen, PA 19310 with visitation from 1:00 to 2:00 pm.
