Ethel Marie Shute Calhoun

Ethel Marie Shute Calhoun, 91, of West Chester passed away at Brandywine Hall Nursing Home on Monday, December 12, 2022. Born in Chester County she was the daughter of the late Laura Mae Clemons Griffen.

Following her formal education, she went on to serve as an assembly worker at Lasko products. She served as a judge of election for South Coatesville for over 28 years.  

She frequented a variety of Lodges and enjoyed dancing, bingo, and friends. Most of all she loved her family.  

She is survived by three children: Donna Hoskins of Parkesburg, Yolan B. Parker of Sadsburyville, and Dennis Shute of Parkesburg, 15 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.  

She is preceded in death by two sons: Robert Shute and Edgar James Shute, Jr. and three siblings: Irma Jones, John Griffin, and Dorothy Hays.  

Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, December 21, 2022, from the Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St., Parkesburg, Pennsylvania, 19365. Friends and family are invited to attend a visitation period taking place from 10 AM until the start of the service. Interment will directly follow at East Nantmeal Christian Fellowship Cemetery.
