84 Years
Brooklyn, New York

Estelle Louise Seldon was born on June 8, 1937, in Brooklyn, New York to parents Clara and George Seldon. The youngest of 6, she quietly found her voice among her siblings. That quiet spirit remained during her entire life. As a young woman, Estelle worked in the laundry room of Brookdale Hospital Medical Center in Brooklyn. However, what she truly wanted was to become a nurse. With the help of her mother, who also worked in the laundry room, she was able to apply and get accepted into nursing school. Four years later she became a registered nurse and lovingly dedicated her life to the profession for 35 years.

In 1955, Estelle married Warren H. Farward and from that union came two children, Warren H Farward the 3rd and Juanita E. Farward-Kinshasa. As a mother, she was patient, compassionate, and understanding yet firm. Her children ALWAYS came first.

Estelle became a grandmother for the first time in 1980. She was elated, and since that time she has since been blessed with a total of six grandchildren-- Chanel Free-James, Paya Lissette Lake, Ryan Farward, Juan Kinshasa Jr., Elise Farward, and Asia N. Rose.

The blessings continued when Estelle became a great-grandmother of 5-- London Skye James, Violet Star James, Laila Chanel James, Zion Lake, and Kelsey Lake.

The blessings continued to unfold, and the family continued to grow with the union of Juan R. Kinshasa ("Pops") to Juanita and Jerry James ("Jay") to Chanel, giving her the loving gift of a son-in-law and a grand-son-in-law who lovingly catered to her every need. Estelle was surrounded in love with a host of nephews, nieces, and cousins who although geographically distant always found was to reach out and let her known how much she was loved.
