Elsie M. Ranck, 89, of Reading, passed away on Tuesday, February 14th under the care of Berks Heim Nursing and Rehabilitation of Reading. She was the widow of the late Roy H. Ranck who passed away in 1993 after they had shared 45 years of marriage together.
Born in Coatesville, Elsie was the daughter of the late Kathryn and Harold Thompson.
She was a graduate of Scott High School. Through her adult life she had worked as a waitress. She was a Past Matron for the Order of the Eastern Star.
She belonged to the Pomeroy Methodist Church.
Elsie is survived by her daughter, Brenda L. Weaver of Reading; two grandsons, Dennis Weaver Jr. of Oxford and Dean Weaver of Ambler; three great-grandchildren; and one brother, Charles Thompson. She was predeceased by her siblings, Elizabeth McLucas, Harold Thompson, Robert Thompson, and Bertha Ranck.
The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, February 23rd at 11 AM at the Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St., Parkesburg followed by interment at the Atglen Methodist Cemetery. Viewing from 10 until 10:45 AM. OES service will be conducted at 10:45 AM.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Pomeroy United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 68, Pomeroy, PA 19367.
