Edward B. Ross Sr.
Edward B. Ross, Sr. 78, of Parkesburg, PA, passed away at his home on Tuesday, August 8, 2023, surrounded by his family, whom he loved very much. Born in Coatesville, PA, he was the son of the late Willard S. and Mary Darlington Ross.
Edward was an area resident most his life and attended the Coatesville Schools. He worked for Lukens Steel Company in his younger years before retiring from Hooper Trucking in his later years. He enjoyed watching game shows and wrestling on TV, as well as a little Jerry Springer here and there. He also enjoyed working on word search puzzles. He made the best homemade chili and chicken corn soup. He loved to share it with everyone.
He was always available to take care of your pets if you had to go out of town. He loved his own cat, Daisy more than anything, he would tell everyone that his cat saved his life on a few occasions. He enjoyed spending time with all his kids and their families, going out to eat or just hanging out.
He had many friends throughout the year but more recently he loved to hang out at home in the evenings with his friend, Keith Beaver, watching TV, maybe drink a beer or two, and smoke a few "Huffy Puffs", and enjoyed his Sunday visits with his friend Spence Douglas, who always brought chicken dinner.
Most of all Eddie loved to make people laugh or bring a smile to their face. He always had a joke of something funny to say. He will be missed by many.
He is survived by his ex-wife, Evelyn Ross and their children, Tina Griffith, and husband, Joe, Sheila Ross, and husband, Miguel, Dawn Ross, and fiancee, Gary, and Eddie Ross, and wife, Jennifer, grandchildren, Erica, Jackie, Danny, Brook, Alex, Michael, Katelynn, Courtney, and Eddie, and 15 great grandchildren with the 16th on the way. He is also survived by brothers, Walter Ross of Parkesburg and Willard Ross of Chatham. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Dickie Ross and Jimmy Ross and by his granddaughter, Jackie Griffith.
Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Wilde Funeral Home of Parkesburg. Online condolences can be posted at www.wildefuneralhome.com
