Edmund H. Ebelhar, Jr., 98, of Honey Brook, passed away on Thursday, December 25, 2014 while under hospice care at the Coatesville VA Medical Center.
Born in Honey Brook, he was the son of the late Edna (Eppihimer) and Edmund H. Ebelhar, Sr. He was a 1934 graduate of the former Honey Brook High School.
While working at the Coatesville Egg Auction he meet Virginia (Doll) Alderman. They celebrated 61 years of marriage at the time of her passing in August 2003. In 1981 he retired from Lukens Steel Company where he was a foreman in the Metallurgical Testing Lab.
Ed was a proud WWII Veteran attaining the rank of Corporal in the Army Air Corp.
He was a past Commander of the Honey Brook American Legion Post #422, charter member of Living God Church and member of Coatesville Senior Center, Senior Circle and Lukens Veterans Guild.
At the age of 94 he started drawing and spent hours with his "sharpies". Flowers became his passion and the many family and friends who received his drawings will long remember him.
He is survived by two children: Judi Ebelhar, Coatesville and Edmund Ebelhar III, Honey Brook; granddaughter, Danielle Ebelhar, Honey Brook; sister, Charlotte Glauner, Parkesburg; brother James Ebelhar, Reading; and his pet dog Daisy. Ed was predeceased by siblings William and Robert Ebelhar and sister Jane Compinski.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 2, 2015 at 11:00 a.m., at the Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main Street, Parkesburg, followed by interment in the Fairview Cemetery, Coatesville. Viewing from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m.

Judi During the past year I had the pleasure of getting to know your dad. He was a sweet kind man, he always had a smile and good disposition even when he wasn't feeling well. The staff at Hickory House will miss him and are sorry for your loss.
