Dorothy Diem Keihm

Dorothy "Diem" Keihm, age 92, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 14, 2024 at the Chester County Hospital in West Chester, PA after a brief illness.  She was the widow of the late Neil W. Keihm with whom she shared 52 years of marriage.  Born October 4, 1931 she was the daughter of the late  Clarence E. Diem and Ella Mae (Sharp) Diem.

She is survived by one sister, Nancy Christy of Hockessin, DE and preceded in death by three siblings: Elizabeth Mae Dennis, Harold Diem and Jane Pearl.  She is also survived by a step niece: Sandi Zielinski and two step nephews: Scott Coombs and Richard Coombs, as well as step children Cherl Lynch, Jane Hooker and Eric Keihm, step grandchildren and several step grand nieces and nephews who will surely miss their Aunt Dottie.

Dottie graduated from Oxford Area High School in 1949 and that Fall began her long career with the DuPont Corporation at the Experimental Station in Wilmington, DE.  She started out as part of the secretarial pool and worked her way up to her position in human resources department as employee benefits administrator.

As a devoted wife, Dottie enjoyed being outdoors in her flower beds and gardens and supporting her husband as they traveled to many barbershop competitions and shows over their happy life together.

A Celebration of Dottie's life will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, April 16, 2024 at the First Presbyterian Church of  Newark, 292 W. Main Street, Newark, DE  19711. Interment will follow in the Memorial Garden directly behind the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made payable to "The First Presbyterian Church of Newark" and sent to the church office at the above address.
