Darlene E. Elrod, 61, of Coatesville, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, July 4, 2018 at the Brandywine Hospital. She was the daughter of Jacqueline A. Kurtz-Steffe and the late William R. Steffe of Coatesville and the beloved wife of the late Rick Elrod of Ohio.
Darlene was born on December 12, 1956 and raised in the Coatesville, Pennsylvania area. She attended Coatesville Area High School. After residing most of her life in Kentucky and Ohio to raise her children, she moved back to Coatesville and remained for the past four years. Darlene enjoyed studying the bible and spreading God’s love to every person she encountered. She loved to read, play Yahtzee, and most of all spend time with her dog, Babygirl and her family. Darlene was known as the light in every room, a joy to be around and an amazing encourager to everyone who knew her.
In addition to her mother and beloved dog, Darlene is survived by three children: Angela (Brian) Walsh of Perry, Ohio, Bill (Ashley) Fowler of Ashtabula, Ohio, Johnny (Scotti) Coleman of Perry, Ohio, stepson Brandon (Tiffany) Elrod of Mentor, Ohio, eight grandchildren, three siblings: Barbara Steffe of Alabama, Carl (Tina) Steffe of Coatesville, Tammy (Mark) Herman of Coatesville and many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her father and husband Darlene was preceded in death by her brother William Steffe, and two infant grandsons.
Memorial services will be private at the convenience of the family.
