Charles Ray Wallace
Charles Ray Wallace, 85, of Cochranville, PA, passed away on Saturday, May 6, 2023 at his home. He was the husband of the late Helen Ann Barlow Wallace who died in 2018. They shared 57 years of marriage together. Born in Lansing, NC, he was the son of the late Fred Wallace and Clyde Welch Wallace.
Charles was an area resident most of his life. He was employed for 30 years by the former Lukens Steel Company in Coatesville retiring in 1995.
Charles attended the Missionary Baptist Church in Atglen. He was a talented musician and enjoyed playing the guitar, mandolin and banjo. He also enjoyed bird watching in his own backyard. Charles could build and fix almost anything. He actually designed and built the home he and his family lived in in Cochranville. Most of all, Charles cherished the times spent with his adoring granddaughters and family.
He is survived by two daughters; Deborah Wallace Genaro and husband Andrew of Kennett Square and Denice Paisley and husband David of Honey Brook, four granddaughters; Amberlin Vaganov of Norristown, Breana Genaro of State College, PA, Emily Henderson of West Chester and Alison Sahadi of Honey Brook, PA, and six siblings; William Wallace of Cochranville, James "Ned" Wallace of West Grove, PA, Bruce Wallace of Elkton, Maryland, Mary Hencer of NC, Betty Shepherd of NC, Ruth Calhoun of NC, and Dorothy Stephens also of NC. He was preceded in death by one sister Helen Burns. He loved his pet dogs Buttercup, who passed away, and Brandy who now truly misses him.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 12, 2023 at 1:00 PM at the Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St. Parkesburg, PA followed by interment at the Union Hill Cemetery in Kennett Square. Family and friends are also invited to attend the viewing from 12:00 noon - 1:00 PM.

I grew up in the same neighborhood of both Helen and Charlie and they were very nice people.
He can now join his beloved Helen and Rest In Peace.
